Warriors Arise: February 27, 2024
Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
This verse and the next couple are very sobering. When You call Jesus Lord, do you mean He is Lord of your life or that He is Lord? Just because we call Jesus, Lord, doesn't mean we are saved.
Think about it this way; there are many students who honor a teacher when they are in their class, but as soon as they get out in the hallway, they badmouth the teacher. Another example would be the President of the United States. At some point there will be someone in office you do not care for. You call them President, however, you do not honor them as the president. Just because a person calls Jesus, "Lord," doesn't mean they honor Him as their Lord. This is why not everyone who says to Jesus, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven.
Let that soak in. Do you call Jesus, "Lord," because He is Lord or do you call Him Lord because you know Him as Lord of your life?
My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I desire for You to be Lord of my life. I submit to You, Your ways, and Your authority. I will honor You with my words. I may not understand why You allow certain things to happen, but I will not question it. I trust You. I know You are working things out for my good. I will bless You in my rising and in my going down at night. I will worship You with every fiber of my being. I will call to You and follow as You lead. You are my Lord and I will honor You in Jesus' Name, amen.
