Why Repeat Myself

Warriors Arise: July 1st, 2020

Luke 24:35-36 (NKJV) And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread. 36 Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.”

These two men are an example of what Jesus has been teaching all of the disciples. He shared with them and they share with others. He showed them how to speak to God and they speak with God. He demonstrated watching where the Father was at work and joining the miraculous and they look where the Father is at work and do the miraculous. So, why should Jesus have to repeat Himself?

Jesus told the two men of Moses and the prophets then gave them a chance to tell what they had learned. It was great practice for what was going to happen. They would be commissioned and they have a personal testimony. Jesus spent time with them. Their testimony of Jesus personally walking with and teaching them on the very day He left the tomb. How amazing is that!

When Jesus arrived where the two men were sharing about their experience on the road to Emmaus. Jesus doesn't turn and teach the eleven again. He doesn't repeat Himself. They were going to have to learn to hear the Word of the Lord through others, believe, apply it to their lives and respond accordingly. They were no longer going to be the first to hear the message from God. When the Holy Spirit arrives all would be able to communicate with God on a level they hadn't known before.

Your testimony, the things God has done in your life, things He has shared with You through His Word, and things He has taught you as you go through life, those things have value. God desires for you and I to be ready to share our story with others. We are to look expectantly for those with whom we can share. He desires for us to encourage others and after we share, pray with them.

Jesus spent His time teaching the disciples so one day they would teach God's Word. Jesus showed the disciples the demonstration of God's love through miracles and then let them demonstrate the miracles. Jesus often went to pray, then taught His disciples how to relate to God in prayer, release God's will through prayer and remove the enemy's activity.

I really the wording in Luke 24:36, "Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them..." It makes me think Jesus was standing in their midst listening to the two men share of their experience with them. Could you imagine?

The next time you get something awesome from God in your Bible time, prayer time or worship, you run to tell someone else; while you are telling what God spoke to you, He manifests right there your midst. I just might faint! To have God right there would be amazing!

I have been writing Warriors Arise daily for over 90 days. Honestly, I didn't think I would still be writing. Who would have thought what has happened around the world in the last 90 days would have happened? I had been praying through March on my own and felt the Lord instruct me to write again. I hadn't written consistently since I published a prayer book and a couple of Bible studies. On occasion I had positioned myself to write again, but I felt the oppression of the enemy and nothing developed. I didn't realize how desperately the enemy wanted me to keep silent. Even though I continued serving the Lord and meeting with Him in my personal Bible time, worship, and prayer, I hadn't overcome the hold the enemy had upon me. I knew breakthrough would come. I had to be faithful to meet with God, learn from His Word, remind myself all He had done and was doing on my behalf. I positioned myself to worship Him, making myself see God's faithfulness, recognize God's activity in my life, and honor Him for His peace during the storms. There were times I had to do whatever it took to keep hope alive. God would make a way for me to encourage others again.

In late March, I could see the enemy consuming peoples' hearts and minds with fear. It was a tsunami of fear destroying hope in people all over the world. Early in Warriors Arise we prayed, we bound up fear and released faith to arise in all believers. The Bible tells us whatever we bind on earth, will be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. God gives us power over the enemy. The enemy would love for us to surrender the lives of all the people who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This, however, is NOT the will of God. God wants us to fight for those who can't fight for themselves. Many of these people do not know how to fight for their freedom from the devil. They do not know the love of God. They do not know there is any other way to live. They do not know Jesus died so they could be free from the clutches of the devil.

Jesus did not need to repeat Himself because people who are in fear, are caught in confusion, trapped in the prisons of their minds and emotions, do not need a lesson. They need peace. Fear traps our emotions. If we are honest with ourselves, most of us operate through our emotions. This is why the peaceful protests got out of hand. People all over the world didn't have the facts of the situation nor did the groups organizing the peaceful protests and the destruction they were causing because of their protests. Honestly, I'm pretty sure I would have marched, because as a believer in Jesus Christ, I believe ALL lives matter. I would not have marched because of a color but because of the injustice portrayed by media. But I wasn't in a city, I had time to do some research and found out what was being said on the media was inaccurate. This totally had "devil" written all over it. The only way to bring freedom to emotions that have been highjacked by the enemy is to bring peace.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

This is why Jesus declared, "Peace to you" when He appear in the room of disciples.They didn't need a lesson, the two men had shared the facts of His crucifixion and resurrection from what He had taught them about Moses and the prophets. They needed peace because their minds and hearts were overcome with confusion. Jesus spoke three powerful words, "Peace to you." Jesus was so patient with His disciples. His love for them is evident. He did not abandon their broken hearts. He did not scold them for their unbelief. He spoke three words they needed to hear.

Father, people are being tossed to and fro by the media, people wanting their 15 minutes of fame. The enemy continues to deceive people with his lies. Confusion abounds. People are so tired of the lies but I am not sure they are turning to the truth. I ask for people to have a little thicker skin and be able to keep up with the truth in order to keep a pulse on the enemy's activities. I pray for Your people to arise and release Your peace upon the people of the earth. I pray for Your people to receive divine opportunity to share their testimony. I ask for those listening to receive the truth of Your love. I ask for lies to be bond in the name of Jesus and truth to be revealed. I ask for the eyes of the people to see through the lies. I bind up the enemy controlling people with his confusion. I loose in the name of Jesus a sound mind, standing on the truth of Your Word. I pray for Your people to stir themselves up by way of Your Word, prayer, and worship to keep focused on Your plan, to expand Your kingdom here on earth. Some of us have been taught Your Word for decades, it is time we get out and advance Your kingdom. It is time to put Your Word into action. I pray You would raise up leaders with Your plan of how to demonstrate Your love to people all over the world. I bless Your people to see the divine opportunities You place before them. I ask for people to hear and understand You amazing love. I ask for people to receive Your love in Jesus' name amen.
