Warriors Arise: April 11, 2024
Matthew 8:25-27 Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
The disciples thought they were going to die. At least four of these men grew up on the sea. They had become fishermen with their fathers. They had seen many tempests and they were scared. It was a situation they could not get out of. They tried to bail water out of the boat but they couldn't keep up. This is why they had to wake up Jesus.
I'm not sure what they thought Jesus would do. I am thinking they were tired and thought He might help with bailing the water. It would appear they had no idea He would speak a word and the tempt would be silenced. This would be why they marveled. It is why they asked each other, "Who can this be...?"
Have you been caught in a tempt?
Maybe a family situation that you thought would never be reconciled, but God. You petitioned God and He intervened. Now the family relationship is healthy and strong.
Maybe a work situation where you continued to get passed up for a bonus, promotion or better working hours.
Maybe you have been in the tempt of slander or gossip. There wasn't a thing you could do or say to get people to hear the truth. They already had their mind made up and you would not get to share the truth.
Maybe you or someone in your family needs healed. You petition God and He will heal you or give your supernatural strength to continue forward.
There are all kinds of tempests that come into our lives and hit us off guard. But God will do the miraculous.
When we seek Him, He will bring reconciliation in our home and with our family member.
When we seek Him, He will cause favor to come upon us at work or get us into another job.
When we seek Him, He will silence the gossiper and end the slander with the truth.
When we seek Him, He will bring the healing or give us supernatural strength to continue forward.
If you will pray, He will do the unexpected, the miracle. It will cause you to ask yourself, "Who can this be?"
My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Thank You for hearing my prayers. I remember when the tempest came and I was knocked down. I was trying with all my might to keep my head above water. I was trying to give You the pain in my heart. I was trying but I needed You. I need You to be involved and intervene on my behalf. Thank You for being with me in the tempest. Thank You for hearing my cry. Thank You for rebuking the tempest. Thank You for bringing peace back into my life. You are my God and I will call upon You and honor You in Jesus' Name, amen.
