Warriors Arise: February 21, 2024
Matthew 7: 13 & 14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
When you are planning a trip, is your focus on the journey to get there or what you will do when you get there? I would like to look at these two verse differently. When we choose a path, are we not more concerned about where the path will take us than the path we must take to get there?
Turn your focus to the end of the journey.
We can focus on the narrow gate verse the broad gate.
We can compare the journey of one who is presumed to have no difficulties to the path verses one who is promised to have difficulties which lead to life.
We can lift our eyes to the end of the journey and make our decision based on the end result.
Most of us plan a trip based on where we want to end up. Once we desire where we want to go them we plan how we are going to get there. Once we plan how we are going to get there then we choose our starting place, date and time. One place of destination is destruction and one leads to life. Where do you want to go will deicide where you are going to start.
"Leads to life" from this passage means the absolute fulness of life, the state of one who possess vitality.
If we keep the end in mine, then we can answer the question: Where do I want to end up?
Do I want to end up in destruction or do I want to end up possessing vitality and absolute fullness of life?
My Father in heaven hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heave. I pray I would receive clear understanding of Your Word. I ask to see to the end. I want to make my decision before I enter the gate. I am grateful You tell us what the end result will be. I desire to assess vitality and absolute fullness of life. I desire to take the path that will get me there. Direct me each step of the way in Jesus' name, amen.
