Warrior's Arise: August 6th, 2020

John 21:1-4 (NKJV) After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”
Waiting can be one of the most frustrating necessities in life. Think of how many
times a day you are waiting. Waiting on someone to do their job, so you can do yours. Waiting for your shift to be over. Waiting on someone to get to the table, so mealtime can begin. Waiting on someone to rinse their dish and load it in the dishwasher, so you can do the same with yours. Waiting on someone to cross the road, so you can continue. Waiting on someone in line at the grocery store, so you can check out. Waiting for the checkout clerk to clean the station, so you can check out. Waiting for someone to show up to give you a ride. Waiting for everyone to get in the car, so you can go. Waiting for the plants in the garden to grow, so you can eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Waiting for the plants to produce, so you can start canning and storing up for the year. Waiting for winter the first snowfall. Waiting for summer to come. Waiting for school to start. Waiting for school to be over. Waiting is part of our life.
We wait because of the expectation of what happens after the wait. The disciples are in Galilee waiting on Jesus. Galilee is a region as well as a sea. Jesus said He would meet them in Galilee. Now, they wait.
Jesus would find them just like He found them in Jerusalem. But what to do while you wait.
Psalms 27:14 (NKJV) Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
What does this verse tell us to do while we wait? Be of good courage. Therefore, do not fret, do not worry, be anxious for nothing. Courage to wait reveals our faith that God will do what He has said He would do.
What do we get when we wait on the Lord? The Lord will strengthen our hearts. This is a promise from God. So we are to wait with courage, fulling believing God will arrive and do what only God can do. He will make a way when we can't see a way.
Psalms 37:7-11 (NKJV) Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth. 10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more. 11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
What does this passage tell us to do while we wait? We are to rest. We are not to fret. We are not to focus on the prosperity of the wicked. We are to cease from anger and forsake wrath. This passage tells us not to fret because it can only cause harm.
What does the Lord promise when we wait on Him? We will inherit the earth. To inherit somethings means it has been given to us, we own it, we rule over it, dominion is ours as God gave it to Adam and Eve.
What character does the Lord say we are to have in order to inherit the earth? We are to have meekness. I like the word picture someone gave me when I was in college for meekness. I thought it meant weak or timid. However, they said meekness is backing down from a battle you know you could win. I no longer felt weak when I made the choice to disengage from someone trying to pick a fight with me. I actually felt empowered. I didn't take the bait so they didn't have power to control me.
Isaiah 40:28-31 (NKJV) Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Who is God? He is the Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth. God never faints nor is He weary. God never gets tired. His understanding is beyond our comprehension. Whatever we need to comprehend, He gives us understanding. God is the only one who gives power to the weak. God recognizes the ones who have no might and gives them strength.
Why do the youths faint and are weary? Why do the young men fall? They are living without God, in our humanness we cannot defeat the enemy, but with God all things are possible. With God we are given power. With God we are strengthened.
What does God promise to those who will wait on the Lord? Those who will wait on the Lord will have their strength renewed. Those who will wait on the Lord will mount up with wings like eagles. They will prepare themselves to fly. God promises we will run and not be weary. He promises we will walk and not faint.
Father, we are waiting for You to release Your kingdom here on earth. We will position ourselves to be of good courage. We believe You are working on our behalf, even when we can't see it. We know when we call out to You, You will hear. When we take courage You strengthen our hearts to be without compromise and our minds to be steadfast on Your Word, Your everlasting love, and Your peace which surpasses all understanding. We will position ourselves to rest in Your presence because we know You are for us to overcome the enemy who seeks to cause division in our homes, in our communities, in our state, and in our country and all over the world. Those who are called by Your name will come together in unity to proclaim the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ. We will stand with You and raise Your banner high. Not in our own power but in the power of the Lord God Almighty we take a stand against the divisive actions of the devil and his demons. You are the God, creator of heaven and earth. You created each one of us. I pray in Jesus' name, we would know You and Your love will free those who are held captive by the enemy. We will not be overcome with fear by the lies of the media. While the media spreads lies we will pray the solution. We will not fret over the finger pointing of the political parties. We will pray for the truth to be made known. We will pray for people to see through the lies and take a stand on the truth. I will trust in the Lord my God and He will give me strength to rise like the eagle. He will cause me to run in the truth of His Word and not grow weary. He will cause me to walk in His peace and not grow faint. I will position myself to wait upon the Lord and release His kingdom here on earth in Jesus' name amen.
A Warrior in the Lord’s Army,
Veridee Joy
My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus, riots, and lies. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me.
