Warriors Arise: April 12, 2024
Matthew 8:25-27 Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
What is the tempest in your life? For the disciples the tempest seemed to be trying to take them under. The rain wouldn't stop. The waves were being hurled over the side of the boat. This was totally out of their control. So, what about for you?
You may be in a situation where you have no control You may be feeling the rain hit your face hard. You may have just has the wave come crashing down upon your back. You have have the wind so strong in your face that you have to turn away from it to take a breath. Can you acknowledge what Jesus did for the disciples?
Why did they marvel? Why were they shocked? They were in a situation in which they had NO control. They tried with all their might but instead of getting ahead, they continued to fall behind and the boat was getting more full of water by the minute. It seemed hopeless.
Are you in a situation where you have NO control? Does it seem hopeless? Then you are in line for a miracle. You are about to see God step in and rebuke waves. They will not come cashing down upon you again. You are about to hear Jesus speak to the wind so you can breathe. You are not be able to change the circumstances in your life but you know the one who can. His name is Jesus.
He is King of kings.
He is Lord of lords.
He is the Alpha and Omega.
He is the beginning and the end.
He is the Lion of Judah, the Prince of Peace.
He is the Messiah who saved us and Emanuel who is with us.
He is your Mighty God and Your Strong Tower.
He is the Rock upon which You stand and the anchor that holds you safe in the storm.
What are you waiting for? Identify the tempest and ask the King, your King. The disciples couldn't stop the tempest but they went to the One who could. Maybe they didn't know what they were asking but they knew who to ask.
There are times when I have no idea what I need to ask for, I just need God to be involved. I need Him to resolve the situation. I have tried but to no avail. God come.
My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. The tempest that I am facing is real. I come before You today because I need You. I need You to intervene. I need Your presence, wisdom, and authority. You are My God and I am Your child. I am in over my head. I feel the waves crashing down upon me. The pressure is real. It doesn't seem to matter which way I turn, the wind is in y face and taking the breath right out of me. I ask for You to speak to the waves and cause them to cease. I ask for You to rebuke the wind and it be gentle. Thank You for being my Advocate. I am free because of You in Jesus' Name, amen.
