Warriors Arise: April 14th, 2020
Totally not safe but it has happened to me. There are those rare occasions where I can be lost in thought and miles down the road I wonder "how did I get this far and I don't remember the miles I traveled?" That is when I thank God for keeping me safe! I was seeing but not seeing. Somehow I drove safely along the road when I wasn't paying attention to the road. Continuing in Mark 16: early in the morning when the sun had risen, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome were headed the tomb where Jesus was laid. They had been discussing who would roll the stone away for them.
Their thoughts were on the how they were going to get inside the tomb. Who would help them roll the stone away. They were not strong enough. The disciples weren't with them. There were Romans had guards posted to make sure no one got in. They didn't want to see any of the priests from the temple. Their thoughts were racing with a solution. They kept coming back to, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?" No solution, yet still they continued toward the tomb.
Verse 4 "But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away - for it was very large." If you will take the time to think back over different circumstances in your life you will see God had already taken care of the very thing you were concerned about. They needed to get inside the tomb. "But when they looked up" they saw the results of God working on their behalf before they arrived. This is why we pray. When we pray, we set our faces looking up to God, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. God who opens doors that no one can shut. God who makes the crooked places straight. God who makes a way in the desert when there is no way. God who does what is impossible to man. This is why I can believe God is already doing what needs to be done.
Warriors as we arise in prayer today, we look up and see what God has done!
Father God, I know You are protecting the medical staff, first responders, police, gas station and grocery workers, truck drivers and the remaining workforce in America. I praise You for You are mighty and Your love is everlasting. I thank You for Your arm of protection around each one of us. I pray for Your people to recognize where their protection comes from. We can wear the masks, gloves and stay inside but if You are not protecting us we are lost already. God, You are our Protector and Deliverer from the coronavirus.
Father God, You know the exact number of people who are infected by the coronavirus and those who are separated from the their loved ones because of its infection. I ask for Your presence to enter right where they are and for You to reach out and strengthen them through this terrible devastation and pain. I pray they would not turn their backs on You but that they would look up. Some have never prayed to You before but today I ask for each one to turn their faces to You, look up and see that You are right there with them. I ask for each one to know Your presence and walk in the fullness of Your amazing love. I ask for each one to recognize and honor You as God, as their God. I pray they reach out to You and hold on until the time of their deliverance from the coronavirus.
Father God, before the women arrived at the tomb, the stone had been rolled away. I ask in the name of Jesus for the cure, without negative side affects, to be discovered. I pray for the researchers to be willing to listen to You to guide them in the formula needed for the cure. I pray they acknowledge You. Father, we look to You and see this is not our end. You have so much more for Your people. We pray for the cure as well as revival to come among Your people in Jesus' name amen.
