Touched Her Hand

Warriors Arise: March 26, 2024

Matthew 8:14 & 15a Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. So He touched her hand, and the fever left her.

We don't even know if Jesus was asked. He just did. He could heal Peter's wife's mother. So, He did.

When I read these verses I see the heart of Jesus. He did what He could and she was healed immediately. Sometimes I am in a position where all I am compelled to pray is, "Jesus, touch them."

I recognize with one touch from Jesus the circumstances change. There can be a loved one dying before your eyes and Jesus choses to take them to heaven rather than heal them. This is a touch of love. They will no longer be suffering. They will be dancing on the streets of gold and taking their place in the great cloud of witnesses. They will be worshipping Jesus and meeting up with loved ones who have gone before them.

There are other times when Jesus touches someone and they are healed. Another time when they are delivered. Jesus can touch someone and they have favor to receive a job, an invite for a job, or tips from those they serve. There are times when Jesus touches someone and their mind is cleared and wisdom is given. People can receive a touch from Jesus and their heart of stone, selfishness, and greed, to a heart of compassion, reconciliation, unity and love.

When Jesus touches our hand, there is evidence of His amazing power to bring freedom, restoration, opportunity, health, wholeness, soundness of mind, reconciliation, and deliverance. One touch is all it takes.

My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I lift my hands in worship to You. I lift Your Name above all other names. You alone are God and I will worships You. When I need Your touch, Your strength, Your courage, Your healing, Your deliverance, Your wisdom, Your way out, Your provision, You deliver. You set me free. You do not make me suffer. Your peace covers me. I look to You for Your compassion does not fail. I receive Your touch and receive Your gift of freedom in Jesus' Name, amen.
