Today is Your Day, part 51

Warriors Arise: June 29, 2021

Matthew 4:8-11 (NKJV) Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

There comes a time when enough is enough. When the enemy is harassing you, it is important for you to know that you do not have to indulge him any longer. Do you know that?

Just because the devil is speaking to you, there is a choice to be made. You do not have to continue to listen to the devil. Jesus had indulged the Tempter long enough. Oddly, I don't know if Jesus was upset because the Tempter just didn't get it or He was establishing His position of authority. Satan wanted Jesus to fall and worship him yet, Jesus gives this command and he obeys.

At this point, the shift had already occurred. Satan thought "all this was his" and that should be enough reason for Jesus to fall and worship him. It isn't want you have, it is who you are. Jesus is King of kings. He is Lord of lords. He is the Prince of Peace, the Messiah and Emmanuel. These are the titles of who Jesus is. We worship Jesus because of who He is and what He has done for us. What had Satan done? Nothing, absolutely nothing. He wanted Jesus to fall and worships him when he had done nothing to deserve this reaction.

• Who are you worshipping?

• What have they done for you?

• Do you worship them more than the God who saved you?

We get distracted becuase we want what someone else has. We may event think if we worship them that they may throw a crumb our way and because of that crumb, we have what they have. However, this is the spinning of lies from the enemy. He calls to us to get our attention. Then he shows us what is behind the curtain. We want what he has shown us so we worship him. Then when the curtain is pulled back it is a prison cell we are locked in.

Today is your day to stop entertaining Satan. Today is your day to stop allowing him to tempt you. Today is your day to get out of the prison of lies you have embraced so you can get free by the power of God within you.

Father, I ask for You to reveal the prison that holds me captive. I want to remember the lies Satan spoke to me so I can apply your truth and get rid of theses. I want to remember the promises Satan spoke to me so I can see that nothing came about as he said. I want the lies of then enemy exposed and I will chose the truth in Jesus' name. Today i will stop entertaining the lies of Satan. Today I will not allow him to tempt me with lies he never intends to keep. Today I pick myself up off the prison floor and speak to Satan with the authority You have placed inside of me. I will not remain imprisoned when I have a purpose to fulfill and a destiny to live out. I will not remain in this prison of lies when You have given me promises that have become reality. I will not entertain Satan anymore. There is no discussion to take place here. I will stand upon Your Word and speak it forth. I will turn to Jesus and see the prison doors open by the demonstration of His love in Jesus' name amen.
