To be Free from their Judgements

Warriors Arise: April 27, 2024

Matthew 9:2 Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”

Meditating on this has led me to focus on the power of forgiveness. Why would Jesus says, "Son, be of good cheer; your sins are corvine you."? Why would He just say, "Rise and walk." It would have been fewer words. It would still restore his physical ability. Why did Jesus say, "Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you."?

I have three thoughts on this. I will share over the next three days:

First, maybe the man had sinned terribly and everyone knew of his sin. They cursed him and condemned him because of his sinful behavior.

How could he ever be free to walk again when he carried such a burden because of their judgements. Many of us have dealt with this. We have sinned. It seemed like everyone knew it. They would make fun of us or point a judging finger. They would reject us, because in their eyes, they would elevate themselves. In Their mind our sin was much worse than theirs's. This gave them the false idea and behavior that they could lord over us.

They are not our judge. They cannot hold anything over our heads unless we are willing to give them that authority or position. The judgement of others is not the judgment of God. Others may choose to never forgive us. But God, He will always for us.

When we turn to Him, acknowledge our sin, and seek to make it right according to God's ways, then we are free to be free. Is there anyone you need to remove from the position of judge in your life?

My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Thank You for reminding me of who I need to removed form being the judge in my life. I reject their judgement sin the Name of Jesus. I am free from their judgments. I will not entertain or embrace their jdugemtns. I have repented to the Lord, my God and He has forgiven me. He will give me strength to rest sin. I am devoted to You. I will keep my eyes on You. I am delighted You have forgiven me. I am free in Jesus' Name, amen.
