Matthew 3:4 (NKJV) Now John himself was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.

The Time between times is a shifty time but also a monument time. We try to complicate things when there is no need, because when God says it's time, it is going to happen. John the Baptist did not complicate the message he preached nor his lifestyle. He had one message, the message of repentance. I am not sure I even understand how he had camel hair clothing. I didn't know camel's hair was long enough to weave or braid. I don't think the point was in reference to the clothing of camel's hair other than it was what the prophets of old wore. People would be able to identify him easily. His clothing was not made of linen. According to my study Bible, the course hair clothing and leather belt were common attire of the Old Testament prophets. There had not been a prophet of God in hundreds of years. Even though this Testament is written as part of the New Testament, people had not yet, identified Jesus as the Messiah, the Son of God, who had come to save the world. Even though He was there they, the Jews, hadn't recognized Him yet. To them, they were still living in the time of the Old Testament. John the Baptist was wearing the attire of the Old Testament prophets.

John was prophesying in a time between times. The Old Testament time was over and the New Testament time is unfolding as he speaks. John the Baptist hadn't been prophesying for years, he was the prophet God positioned for this specific time to prepare the way for His Son to make His entrance. John didn't know when Jesus would appear. He had a message and it was burning within his bones. He had to speak. He had to challenge the people to prepare their hearts for Jesus, for Salvation. He didn't know when would be the time for Jesus to begin His ministry, but John didn't wait for an invitation at the synagogue to share what God place inside of him. John had a word God wanted him to share. John needed to be fulfilling Scripture, so Jesus could fulfill Scripture.

Has God put something on your heart to do and you have not begun? What others are called to do may be waiting on you to step into your place so they can step into theirs.

Father, I come before You and ask, "Have You told me to do something that I haven't done?" I do not want to be a road block for someone else's calling to begin being fulfilled. I want to be someone who opens the doors for others to step into their destiny. I pray I would hear Your voice clearly. I pray I would respond with You complete instructions and in You perfect time. I pray I would not stop time but be in the moment, in Your time for what You want me to do what You have give into my hands to do. I will not be a road block. I will encourage and exhort others to fulfill their God-given destiny. I pray each one to step into the God-ordained time in Jesus' name amen.
