Warriors Arise: February 6, 2024
Matthew 7:7 "Ask..."
When was the last time you shut everything out, silenced your phone, and gave your whirling mind a rest? The best time to ask is when you have done those things. When we ask in the midst of the chaos, we just might miss the answer. Then you think God doesn't care. When you ask when your attention is on every ding from your phone, you are distracted and your mind considered God's answer another ding from your phone. You think God never responds to me. When you ask in the mist of your mind whirling from one topic to another, there is not a moment for God's answer to lay anchor in your mind. God can't calm the storm in my life.
The simple three letter word that means so much, ask. The baby knows what she wants. She want to pacifier. She is focused on getting it. Even without words, everyone knows what she wants. Do you know what you want? If God were to hold it out in front of you would you reach for it? All you and I have to do is ask. Too many times we enter into prayer by going into all the detail that has led to us speaking with God. He already knows. We do not need to rehearse what happened or what was said. We only need to know what we want to ask. Specifically, what is it we need to ask.
Under all the layers your mind has created, can you identify what You are really wanting to ask God? God will listen. He will respond. He will make a way out. He will supply for all your needs according to His riche in glory. He will bring life, healing and wholeness. He will restore what was lost and redeem time. He will provide opportunity for reconciliation. He will give favor. He will show kindness. He will answer. Do you know what you need to ask?
My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I ask for Your will to be done as it is in heaven for my life. I ask for courage. I ask for fortitude. I ask for wisdom. I was for agape. I ask for peace. I ask for joy. I ask for abundance. I ask for the ability to learn quickly. I ask for Your presence in my life. I ask for my ears to hear Your words. I ask for my mind to understand what You are saying. I ask for what You dreams I would accomplish to be filled completely in my life in Jesus' name, amen.
