Warriors Arise: May 12, 2021

2 Kings 4:44 (NKJV) So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.
That verse holds so much. This happened: they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord. It is so important we learn to hear the voice of God. There are times when God gives us exactly what we need. It doesn't seem like it is enough. It doesn't seem like it is the right thing. It doesn't seem to be the answer, the solution, the resolution. However, when we use the word "seem" to describe our assessment of the situation it means we are thinking according to what is possible through human standards. This is fine unless God is speaking to you. When God speaks, it changes everything. Remember, He created earth when there was NOTHING.
When we talk in terms like "it doesn't seem" we are at least starting with something. When we say, "It doesn't seem like it is enough" then there was something there. When we say, "It doesn't seem like it is the right thing" it means something was initiated. When we say, "It doesn't seem to the answer, the solution, the resolve" it means there was an answer offered, people are looking for the solution, and want the issue to be resolved.
Before Jesus fed the 5,000 men, Elisha fed a 100 men. But to Elisha's servant, there didn't seem to be enough. I am not sure if he is concerned that he will not get enough to eat or being insulted because there won't be enough. Elisha has to tell him twice to place the food before the men. Elisha had to say it was a word from the LORD before his servant would do what he told him to do.
We have three people represented in this documented miracle: the man who brought the food, the man who directed what to do with the food, and the man who had to do what he was told to do. Each were an important part in 100 men receiving food.
2 Kings 4:42-44 (NKJV) Then a man came from Baal Shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley bread, and newly ripened grain in his knapsack. And he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat.” 43 But his servant said, “What? Shall I set this before one hundred men?” He said again, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for thus says the Lord: ‘They shall eat and have some left over.’ ” 44 So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.
Why did the man from Baal Shalisha bring food to Elisha? (Led by God)
Why did Elisha give the food to the 100 men? (Heard from God)
Why did the servant place the food before the 100 men? (Trusted the man of God)
They each had a decision to make. This was their day to be a part of a miracle. This was their day to see God use their "Yes". The man from Baal Shalisha is the first "yes." Elisha and his servant were hungry along with the 100 men. Elisha being the man of God, he should have eaten first, but instead he gave the food to the men. Elisha's servant stumbled with his yes but recovered and placed the food before the 100 men. His obedience led to leftovers. They had more than enough.
2 Kings 4:44 (NKJV) So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.
According to the word of the Lord. Miracles happen according to the word of the Lord. What part of a miracle have you been involved?
The one who provides what you have?
The one who gives to another before yourself?
The one who trust there will be something left for you?
Father, I am thankful for the number of miracles I have been a part of. There are so many times I was in need. I had to trust You. I had to trust when I was giving to someone else, that You would take care of my need. What I needed passed right through my hands and into the hands of others. I had to resist the temptation to be jealous. I had to know You were calling me to trust You. You have never left me without. You have always provided for me. There are times in my abundance I brought to others, to the people of God. I wanted to bless them and they gave it away. I did not understand they were a conduit of getting what You had me supply to the people who needed it most. You revealed so much to me in trusting You to get what was needed to the people who needed it. My responsibility is to listen to You and give as You direct, to whom you direct. I will listen clearly and follow You. You want to use me to give to others. You want to bless others with what You have given. I will give of my first fruits. I will give where You direct. I will be be the start of a miracle. I will also pass along the miracle to make sure others are given what they need. I am thankful You give me the opportunity to give into the lives of others and then make sure I have what I need as well. Just because Elisha and his servant didn't eat first, doesn't mean they didn't eat at all. I am thankful I get to be a part of Your miracle to others! I will listen and follow Your direction without hesitation. I will not reason in my own mind. You will direct my path and I will make today, my day to be involved in a miracle in someone else's life in Jesus' name amen.
