Matthew 9:29-30 (NKJV) Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” 30 And their eyes were opened.
Yikes! This one is so difficult. We want to think we have faith to believe Jesus has the ability to heal us. We also want to think we have the faith to believe Jesus wants to heal us. Is there are difference between knowing He can and knowing He will us? Is there a difference knowing He will do a miracle on our behalf, if we only had the faith to believe?
I have come across so many people who believe God can and will do the miracle when they are praying for others. They will pray with every ounce of faith they have to petition God for the miracle someone else needs. They will boldly approach the throne of God for people they have no relationship with; people they don't even know. However, when they need their own miracle they are unsure, steps are shaky, they talk themselves out of even presenting themselves before God. How do I know this? Because I used to be that person. At times, I still am. The enemy will come at me, "What makes you think God will listen to you? What makes you think You are so important to God? He doesn't love you as much as He loves them."
Honestly, it wasn't long ago, probably at least 10 years when I remember telling someone, "I can believe for them; I just don't believe God to do it for me." When I spoke that out loud, I had own it. God began to do a major overhaul in my thinking. It definitely wasn't Scriptural. My own words exposed what I really believed.
I had to face my wrong thinking. I am loved by God. I am the apple of His eye. He does hear my cry. He does answer my prayers. He is for me. He will work all things out for my good. He does want me to ask and keep on asking. He does want me to look so that I find. He does want me to knock and come on in. He wants me to dwell in His presence. He anoints my head with oil. He calls me His friend. He embraces me as His child. He says I am His beloved.
Did you know He says those things of you too?
Father, I enter into Your presence. I receive Your love as it pours from Your heart into my life. Your word says we are each given a measure of faith. I ask for my faith to grow. I want to believe for Your kingdom to come, for Your will to be done here in my life as You dreamed it would be, as it is in heaven. I am fully loved by You. I am lacking nothing. You restore my body, redeem by soul, revive my spirit and make me whole. You are my God and I am fully and completely loved my You in Jesus' name amen.
