Mark 7:32-34a (NKJV) Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. 33 And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. 34 Then, looking up to heaven,

Even Jesus looked to heaven, looked to His Father for help. How often do you and I go through our day facing resistance, opposition, or the adversary and we never look to the Father?

Psalms 121:1-2 (NKJV)

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—

From whence comes my help?

2 My help comes from the Lord,

Who made heaven and earth.

  • When the enemy is holding his ground against you, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When deliverance won't come, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When healing seems to be stalled, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When relationships continue to fall apart, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When bills are unable to be paid, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When work is a prison instead of your path to your dreams, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When issues cannot be resolved, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When you do not know the answer, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When you do not know the way out, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When the problem at hand seems to be a mountain you can't get past, climb over, or go through, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When the enemy keeps spewing lies, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When your dreams seem to be dangling in front of you, but you can't walk in them, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When judgment falls upon you, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When fear paralyzes you, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When the situation seems impossible, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

  • When you have done everything you know to do, look to the heavens, for your help come from the Lord.

Since Jesus clearly gives us the example of relying on God when facing resistance, why would we think we should live our lives without looking to the Father?

Father, I do not know why when adversity comes my first, second, and third attempt to resist is in my own strength. There I times I don't even look to You until I have tried everything else. I also do not want to be so immature in my faith that I never exercise the power You have given me. I do not want to be praying for You to deal with a situation when You have already given me the way out, the way through, the way around. I understand I need to be an active part in resolving conflict, receiving Your love to remove fear, facing my adversary with the Word of God but I also know there are times I need a little help from You. As Jesus, there are times I need to look to heaven, receive from You and activate my faith to move the mountain out of the way. I am asking to be reminded to look to You when I have done my part. I am asking to be compelled to listen to Your way out and do as You do in Jesus' name amen.
