Luke 8:45-48 (NKJV) And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” 46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. 48 And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
A tender term to be calling this woman, "Daughter." Most likely she was older than Jesus. Age is not the point. Paul talks about having faith as a child in Ephesians 5:1. She is believing with a childlike a faith. A childlike faith is wholeheartedly belief their Daddy can do anything. They believe there is nothing stronger than him and no one wiser than him. Jesus says it is her faith that has made her well. Her faith is what drew power from Him.
Does that bother you? Are you compelled to seek God to understand the faith this woman displayed? I am sure I do not understand this faith she demonstrated, but her testimony empowers me to seek God for that kind of faith. As a Christians, a believer in Jesus Christ, I am part of God's family. I am a daughter of God, therefore, I have favor like a child. A child who admires her father, has favor. It doesn't mean the child is the favorite, it means the child is favored because their is blood relationship. My belief and confession of Jesus being my Lord and Savior positions me in the family of God. Jesus' blood makes me a child of God. God, the perfect Father, shows favor to His children. God will act on behalf of His children before anyone else. It does not mean that God doesn't do things for non believers. It means He acts first on behalf of those that believe in Jesus' His Son and have confess Him as Lord and Savior in their life. We are family. God, our Father, favors His children.
He will protect us first. He will teach us first.
He will make opportunities for us first. He will provide a way out for us first.
He will speak to us of things to come first.
He will share His wisdom with us first.
He will give us understanding first.
He will also discipline us first.
He will work miracles for us first.
He thinks of us first.
When we believe God love us His child and He our Father, then we are positioned to receive His favor. As His children we have favor from our Father.
Father, I know You do not want me to live in the bondage of this illness. You have overcome the world and all it's wickedness. You have made a way for me to be made whole again. As I pray, I lift up my hand to touch the hem of Your garments. I am Your child. I am protected by You. I am taught by You. You provide a way out. Your love for me makes a way for me to prosper. I am Your child and You are my Father. I ask for understanding of the fullness of being Your child and You being my Father. You care for me like no other. Your love for me is amazing. I desire to embrace loving You as a child in Jesus' name amen.
