John 9:13-16 (NKJV) They brought him formerly was blind to the Pharisees. 14 Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes. 15 Then the Pharisees also asked him again how he had received his sight. He said to them, “He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.” 16 Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.”

Continuing with the blind man who was touched by Jesus and saw, the miracle turns into quite the event. Why did the people bring the man, once blind but now seeing, before the Pharisees? I do not believe the people were thinking of the law. Why would Jesus heal on the Sabbath when there was to be no work done? However, in bringing up "work" I don't think Jesus ever thought of healing, cleansing, and delivering from demons at work. He didn't conjure up the power. Power was within Him waiting to be released. It was no sweat off His brow to do as He saw the Father do.

My oldest daughter and I were in my father's garden this week. Generally, my dad goes out before we get there and picks some of the rows of green beans. We set up a time when we were going to start and he had to go before us and pick several rows. I don't know if he just couldn't wait, wanted to help us out, or was checking to see what kind of a crop we would have. That aspect reminds me of what God would be doing for Jesus. I am not saying my dad is God, but he does have some attributes of God. In this aspect, he imitates God as Scripture says we are to do, in Ephesians 5:1. However, my dad is human and he does make mistakes. God is God and he makes no mistakes.

Abigail was saying, "I like coming out to pick green beans with Grandad. He doesn't really talk, but he is open to listening. I think I just like doing things with him. I don't like it when he assigns me something and then leaves me by myself but I like when we are together. We don't even have to say a word." Jesus did what He saw His Father doing. Just like Abigail and I did what we saw my dad do. Dad would go out before us and then join us once we arrived. He would lighten the load because he had already paved the way. He had picked a few rows. He made sure there would be a harvest to store/can. We knew what we were there to do, just like Jesus knew what the Father wanted Him to heal, cleanse, deliver, teach, etc. He did what He saw the Father doing.

There are times when Jesus prayed in front of the group and blessed the food but most of the time He just released the power one the one God and had gone ahead and prepared the way. Jesus would often come from meeting with God and know what He was going to do or could recognize who His Father had already prepared for their miracle. My Dad and I would talk on the phone or text and I would know when I was to show up to pick green beans, which rows he wanted picked, and then He would prepare the way, pick few rows before I got there, then after I started, he would come out and see my progress..

Jesus loved doing what He did with the Father, it wasn't work to Him. Others may look at what we do and think, "Why would you want to do that? It is so much work." I don't think Jesus ever thought that when releasing the power of God toward the people He taught and healed was work. Honestly, I believe Jesus was trying to do as much as He could, because He knew His time was short. He knew once He began operating in the power of His Father, it was game on. His time in the waiting tank was over and He had a limited amount of time before He had to fulfill His calling. His destiny purchased our lives with His blood when He died on the cross. Then released His resurrection power when He returned from conquering hell. When Jesus healed this man from blindness He didn't even break a sweat. It was not work.

When our heart is to serve God, what others think as work is an act of love, an extension of the Father's love through us. It wasn't work. There was no law broken when Jesus did the miraculous and restored the man's sight.

Father, I ask for You to forgive me for the times I have seen doing the work to advance Your kingdom as work. Joining You in releasing kingdom power is a delight. It brings freedom to the captives and joy to the broken-hearted. I desire to bring the fullness of what You have inside of me to bless others. I will release Your love for Your people and demonstrate Your power of restoration to their life. I will not hold back what You have put inside of me. I will not turn away when I see You have positioned me to release Your powerful love into their life. It is not work to join You in what You are doing. I will listen and follow You in Jesus' name amen.
