John 9:6-12 (NKJV) When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing. 8 Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?” 9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” He said, “I am he.” 10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?” 11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eand said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.” 12 Then they said to him, “Where is He?” He said, “I do not know.”
This question can mean so many different things.
Where is He? meaning, we want proof that a man did what you said He did.
Where is He? because I need to be healed.
Where is He? this can't possibly be how it happened. How would you know anyway, you were still blind.
Where is He? Are you sure it wasn't the water in the pool of Siloam, we have another pool that if you were the first in when the angel stirs it, you could be healed. Maybe the angel stirred the pool of Siloam.
Where is He? Was He an angel?
Where is He? because He has some explaining to do.
When you hear someone testify that God healed them what goes through you mind? Which one of these, "Where is He?" questions needing an answer for you to believe the word of the one testifying?
In college people told me, "You are so naive." They weren't paying me a compliment. I was not worldly wise and I happened to believe what people told me. I wanted people to believe me when I shared so why would they want to mislead me, tell me a lie? My point, I take God at His word, every Word in His Bible and every Word He has spoken to me. I am totally not perfect in following every word but I do believe what He has said He will do. I believe what He has promised will become my reality. I believe since He did it for someone else, I have a right to ask for myself. He has enough love to act on my behalf just like He will never run out of power to remove the enemy who seeks to torment me. People may think I am naive in my faith but I believe if there is anyone I can believe, it is God. If He said it then I believe it. I don't know how He will do something, but I know if I am willing then what He said He will do, He will do. I don't know when He will do what He promised, but I know His word will become my reality one day.
My "Where is He" would be so I could either take someone to be healed, delivered, or cleanses of leprosy or so I could worship Him. What would you "Where is He?" question be asking?
For proof?
To take Him before the priests?
To see if the waters were magical?
To see an angel?
I can't figure out why we are so eager to see and angel and believe in angels but when it comes to wanting to see God and believe in Jesus we all of a sudden come skeptics. This is odd to me. Where do we know of angels? The Bible, God's Word. Where do we know of demons? The Bible, God's Word.
So, why don't we believe everything the Bible says about God?
Why don't we believe in Salvation by grace, the shed blood of Jesus Christ?
Why don't we believe in God's love that never fails?
Why don't we believe we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us to acomplish the dreams God put inside of us?
Why do we not believe the prayer Jesus teaches us to pray is enough to uproot and rid the land of demonic strongholds?
Why do we not believe God is for us to have the abundant life Jesus died and rose again to give to each one of us?
Father, I believe, help my belief. I want every part of me to believe in every part of You.
I want to know where You are so I can come worship You and to be touched by You. I position myself before You. I ask to know more of You and Your amazing love. I come running after You. I worship You and You alone. You are my God and I will honor You. I will believe all You have said. I believe You will do everything You have said You would do. I believe Your promises will become reality in my life in Jesus' name amen.
