The Sweet Spot

Warriors Arise: February 12, 2024

Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

As I started to reveal in yesterday's blog, this seems backwards. I laid down some ground work about how God looks at a situation entirely different than we do. I want to tie together the last two days which lead into today's revelation.

I loved to watch both of my brother's play basketball. They both had a beautiful shot. They were diligent to practice and found their "sweet spot". What's the sweet spot in basketball? When you hear the net "swish-twit" as the ball hits nothing but net, baby! It is a beautiful sound.

We would think you knock first, then seek or ask for the person you want to speak to. Once you are taken to them or they come to the door, then you would ask them what you are needing. Jesus says we are to ask God, then seek Him to find the answer followed by knocking so the door will be opened to us. It seems totally backward until Holy Spirit revealed the key to understanding what Jesus is saying.

When a need arises in my life, I am to ask God for what I need. Then I am to seek the answer. I need to make myself available for God to direct my path to lead me to understand, revelation, wisdom, provision, peace, persistency, and tenacity to devalue His word as I am getting to when the need will be met. In the seeking there comes a time when you know you are in the presence of God. That's the sweet spot!

In the sweet spot, the stress of what we need is removed. We can even forget about all of our troubles. We can be at perfect peace in the Father's presence. However, if you got into His presence because you were pursing God for a need, don't forget to knock. We can be asking for a need to be met for months, years and even decades. We can be seeking, listening, and declaring Scriptures. However, when we arrive in the midst of the sweet spot, we need to remember to knock. We cannot get tongue tide. We cannot sit and bask in His glory and perfect peace. This is the time when we are with our Father and He is ready for us to knock, He is ready of us to make our petition before Him.

When we find the sweet spot with God, we have to remember to continue to shoot the ball, make your request known, knock and keep in knocking. You don't have to limit yourself to one basket, one score, one request. When a player finds their sweet spot and they are one fire, the coach doesn't sit them on the bench. The coach lets them play. The coach lets them continue to score. God can handle more than one request. When you get into His presence don't for get to score, make your request known to God.

Our Father in heaven. Hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is heaven. I come before You to make my request known. You have made Yourself available to me. I have learned so much from asking and seeking You. Now, that I am in Your presence, I will knock, I will make my request. I find peace in Your presence, but I need the answer to my petition. I need to make my request known. Because of Your amazing love, I will be confident in making my request known in Jesus' Name, amen.
