2 Corinthians 13:14 (NKJV) The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

Patrick knew of the superstitions of the Irish Druids. He had been a slave there for 6 years. When you live in a different country for that long you pick up on their idiosyncrasies and their quirky beliefs. However, a positive belief was that the best things came in threes. When Patrick would explain God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, the Druids would think there were three Gods. It seemed no different than their belief in many gods.

Patrick was bold in sharing God creating the worlds, Jesus dying for our sins and making a way for us to be in relationship with the Father, and the Holy Spirit to guide us each day. When he was before the king he did not have a visual to bring clarity to the Holy Trinity. But when he had the chance to talk with the king's daughters they where in the garden. He taught them of the Holy Trinity, God's desire to be in relationship with His people, Jesus' desire to rescue them from hell, live in heaven, and the Holy Spirit's desire to lead and guide them in wisdom and protection. It was then he saw the garden covered with shamrocks. He gave one to the king's daughters and asked, "Does the shamrock have one or three leaves?" They said both. He responded, "This is how God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, are one." They received Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, began a relationship with God the Father and learned to follow God the Holy Spirit.

Ireland is called the Emerald Island because it is covered with Shamrocks. Wherever Patrick preached, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he now had a visual everyone everyone could relate to and would be seen everywhere they went. It could not be avoided. God had marked their island. Being a superstitious people group, this brought many to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. They believed the way He made for them. They received the Holy Spirit as One they would need to guide them. They could speak to God as their Father.

John 14:16-17 (NKJV) And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

Father, there are times when I feel I have failed when I share the Gospel. But I do not want to stop. I want to seize every opportunity. Even though the king did not accept Jesus, Patrick still shared with his daughters and You revealed exactly what to explain the Trinity. I want to be bold in sharing my faith. I may not have the answer when I begin, but I pray I would have open ears to hear the Holy Spirit speak and guide me how I can best teach Your ways. I want to give understanding and demonstrate Your love for people. I want to be courageous and continue to share the Gospel. I do not want to assume everyone knows You and follows You. I want to listen and be led by the Holy Spirit to not use the same way I have always shared when I am with people. I want to have a fresh word for them and illustrations that will speak to them of the mysteries of the Gospel. I look to You and listen for You to guide me in what I say and how I demonstrate Your ways in Jesus' name amen.
