So It Was

Warriors Arise: October 29, 2021

Luke 17:11-19 (NKJV) Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. 17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

"They were cleansed"

And so it was, written as a fact. Written as if the writer saw it happen. In a society that has become opinion-based rather than fact-driven, this might bother some. When you read this, "and so it was" knowing it is referring to an actual event, a happening, indisputable because there were witnesses, does it register that it is the truth. We can read the Bible and in our mind think, "Yes, that happened", without even registering, "that actually happened! The 10 lepers were healed, cleansed and restored to society".

When we do not acknowledge the events in the Bible as truth, a reality at their time in history, we grow up thinking they were just stories. We wonder why so many children go through Sunday School but when they are adults they don't continue to participate in church, find their ministry with the church, and live out their God-given purpose. Sure, things happen in life that lead to excuses. They did for me too. However, I had to come face to face with the truth.

God's Word is true.

God has called me and that calling is irrevocable.

God wants me to be united with Christians to expand His kingdom.

God tells me to do something, then it is to become reality in my life.

You and I are to have our "And so it was..."

What has God told you to do? Did you do it? Are you doing it? Have to worshiped Him for making a way for you to fulfill your purpose?

Father, I position myself before You. I worship You for all You have done in my life and called me to do. I pray for boldness to continue forward in what You have given into my hands to be done. I ask for complete cleansing in my mind of the rejection I have received. I pray for clarity in what You want me to do. I ask to be restored to the destiny You dreamed I would fulfill. I ask for You to reconcile any broken relationships. I ask for You to unite people in my life who have a place in what You have called me to do. I pray if there is anyone I have rejected that I would be reminded, seek forgiveness from them, and speak a blessing over every area of their life. I pray for my words to be healing to them and restoration to be established in Jesus' name amen.
