Warriors Arise: April 9, 2024
Matthew 8:25 & 26 Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
There are times when we have a lot to say and then there are other times we just need to be direct. Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea and it was OVER. I do not believe He spent hours doing that. I don't even believe it took ten minutes. I believe He operated in the same authority as God did when He created the earth. God spoke and what He said happened right before His eyes. Jesus 'rebuked the winds and the sea and there was a great calm'.
Short and sweet. Jesus didn't mince words. He didn't waste words. He probably wanted to get back to sleep. He had no reason to put on a big show. He kept is simple, He rose to the challenge, spoke with the authority God had given Him and the winds and the sea obeyed Him. We are to rise up, speak with the authority God has given us and the tempest in our life will end. We will see a great calm come over the tempest in our life.
My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. You will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I speak to the issue in my life that is lashing out at me. The one the is acting like a tempest. The winds are holding me back. I can't make any progress forward. In the Name of Jesus I speak to those winds and say, "Peace, be still". The sea, the path that I am on is shifty. I speak to the sea, "You will not toss me around to and fro. You will not keep be from my destination. You will not fight against me. You will not prevent me in any way from getting to where God has said I will go. The path upon which I travel will be smooth sailing. I will not be stagnate in the water. The wind will work in my sails and not against me. I release Your Kingdom to be active in my life and the life of those who are with me. I bless Your Name for You are always with me in Jesus' Name, amen
