Warriors Arise: April 25, 2024
Matthew 9:1 So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city.
I dont' know about you, but there are times when rejection hits so hard, I want to go home. I want to be in my comfort place and surrounded by the people I know love and accept me. After being rejected by the people of the city, where Jesus delivered the two men from the demons that tormented them, He when to His own city.
We could have done something or been a part of something truly miraculous and amazing by the hand of God and still be rejected by the people. However, we will never be rejected when we turn to God. He is our Father. He is our place of safety and strength. He is our place of comfort and courage to continue on. He rejoices over us. He calls us to meet with Him.
At different times, people will reject us. It isn't that they are rejecting us, they are rejecting Christ in us. They can't handle someone totally sold out to God. It convicts them. It scares them because they see all they would have to give up to follow God instead of all they would gain.
It is very similar to when I considered this health program to lose weight. In order for it to work, I had to embrace a lifestyle. I had to wrap my mind around the fact that it wasn't a diet, it was a lifestyle change. With the new life choices, I was getting so much more. Sure, I had to give up some of my favorite foods. I had to stop allowing myself to turn to food for comfort and satisfaction and always having a reason to treat myself. Those former ways caused my health suffer, my mind to suffer, and my relationships suffer. Everything seemed to be based upon making me feel good or affirming others. I ate to feed my addictions, feel good about myself and make others feel good about themselves. I was scared. But instead of rejecting this opportunity, I turned to God and He walked with me to get my health restored, clarity of mind and relationships stronger.
There are many ways people find to reject us; however, God will never reject us. When others aren't happy about what God is doing in our life and through us, turn to Him. He is absolutely thrilled about all you and what the two of you have accomplished.
My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. You call me to join You. You work miracles in my life. You also work then miraculous when I join what You are already doing. I praise You! When rejection is being spewed at me, I will turn to You. I will worship You. It hurts but I hurt for them more. They are the ones truly missing out of the fullness of what You want to be and do in their life. You are always waiting for me to turn to You. You receive me every time. I praise You for Your amazing lovingkindness. I worship You in Jesus' Name, amen.
