Warriors Arise: March 14, 2024
Matthew 8:1 When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him.
I realize we want to make sure we are not in pride; however, I also want to make sure that we are following Jesus' example. When God would come down from heaven and meet with Moses, everyone in the camp knew. They knew because they saw the cloud. There was no doubt because there was a visual difference with Moses. The glory of God caused Him to glow. The people could not handle the glory of God upon Moses so he wore a veil, a hood to cover his head.
I have always wondered why they didn't want some of the gory? I love reading the account of Joshua outside of the tent of meeting and then laying out on the ground after Moses came out. Joshua was soaking up the remnant, the overflow of what Moses was getting in the tent.
Every time Jesus came down form the mountain, after meeting with God, I believe people followed Him because they wanted what Jesus was carrying. They didn't just want the healings, miracles, deliverance and to be fedd physically. They were starving spiritually. They remained and listened because their spirit was soaking up every word He said.
Even though they couldn't comprehend it, they knew Jesus has something they wanted, something they needed. Remember, He didn't feed the 5,000 until after He had preached all day. It was getting late and the people need physical nourishment. Why did they stay ALL day? Why didn't they leave to go get something to eat?
They were being fed a way they had never eaten before. They were being fed in their spirit. It was bringing freedom to their life from the inside out.
When we come from meeting with God, we should be prepared for people to want what we have just nourished our Spirit with. They need what we have received from God. It isn't always a word. It can be; however, it can be so much more. It can be kindness, generosity, a smile, hug or gratitude. It can be peace, a willingness to receive and the excitement of what is to come. God is generous and gives freely because He wants us to receive and be willing to allow people to follow us. They are hungry for the Christ in us. They are hungry for what we have gotten from the Father.
As we receive from the Father, like Jesus on the mountain, we are positioned to have something to give those who are looking, wanting to follow, wanting to receive like Joshua at the tent of meetings. People are seeing us meet with God and they want to receive as we have received.
My Father in heaven hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We come to meet with You. Thank You for pouring into us. I pray my eyes will be open to seeing those who are wanting what I have received. I pray I would lead from Your presence, so others will follow. My hearts desire is that they turn to You, they have their own time with You, they go to the mountain and then lead for others. I ask this in Jesus' Name, amen.
