Warriors Arise: November 11, 2020

I have no idea what it would be like to send my husband, son or daughter into war. I am sure most movies do not even come close to depicting what a war was like and how it affected the soldiers. Even when we win there are still so many who have had experiences they will struggle with in their souls. They will have seen things they will never be able to unsee.

Why did they fight? Why did they sign up to be an American soldier?

For Honor

For Freedom

For Financial Security

For College Tuition

For their Family Legacy

For the Glory

For an option other than jail

For ...

I can't really imagine anyone knowing what war will be like and how it will affect them, until they have experienced it. What I do know it that being a soldier during wartime is putting oneself in a position where the soldier could potentially be killed, wounded, or mentally unstable for the rest of their life. They made the choice to sacrifice life as they knew it to make sure the freedoms remain that the American people enjoy. Their sacrifice is real.

Every soldier has a mother, a father and grandparents. Many have siblings, a spouse, and children. They made the choice to fight for America to remain the land of the free and the home of the brave. They made the choice to tell the enemy, "You aren't getting my freedom today and I won't let you get to my loved ones." They made a choice.

I do not know what the right thing is to do to honor our Veterans and their families. My heart aches for those who have lost loved ones who were in the military. My mind tries to comprehend how a parent is to tell their children that Daddy or Mommy lost their life. What does it mean to a child to have their parent sacrifice their life, when all they want is to have them back in their home holding them, playing catch, or telling them to go for their dreams. How do you comfort and support the spouse, parents or children whose parent, son, or daughter who returns home is disabled or mentally unstable?

I'll tell you how:

Honor what they have done

Honor the people they love

Honor the people they served with

Honor those who fought before them

Honor the American flag, our symbol to the world of our freedom

Honor America, your right to dream

Honor every day not just one day.

Don't be afraid to tell them thank you. It is the very least you could do. Make a point that every time you see someone who is in uniform or wearing a veteran's hat that you thank them for their service. Tell them how much you appreciate your freedom and what they went through so you could be free. We are free today because people fought for our freedom and to keep us free here in America.

Jesus went to war on our behalf so we could live free from satan's deception, lies and attacks. Jesus faced off with the devil in the wilderness (Matthew 4). There was no sickness that the power Jesus released couldn't defeat. When Jesus touched the leper he did not get leprosy, but the leper got healed! Jesus rebuked the winds and the waves and they obeyed Him. Jesus called forth Lazarus from the grave and life returned to him. Jesus went to war on our behalf. He offers freedom not just to Americans but to every person on the earth. His freedom will be eternal for all those who come to know Him. When God sent His Son to earth to be our Savior from a lifestyle of sin and condemnation, He showed each one of us how to live a victorious life, to overcome the evil one, and establish His kingdom here on earth.

We honor Jesus by walking in the truth, seeking the truth, and taking a stand for the truth. Deception is of the enemy, slander is of the enemy, lies and trickery are of the enemy. We honor Jesus by living according to the truth of God's word. Jesus brought justice in an unjust world.

One day is not enough to honor those who have fought for our freedom. Each and every day be thankful for the freedoms you have here in America. Thankful for the Pilgrims who began our country to pursue worshipping God and for those who fought against tyranny and establish the freedoms you get today. We should honor our military and the veterans every day. It is not because of their perfection, it is because of our freedom for which they fought. We should honor Jesus every day, He was perfect and is perfect in all His ways and His love for us positioned each one of us to live free of the devil's lies, deception and attacks.

Father, so many Americans have fought for the freedom I enjoy today. I am thankful we have a military who is active in helping other nations become free from tyranny and establish a republic. I pray you would heal broken hearts and confused minds of those who have lost and suffered because of the sacrifice of a loved one. I ask for Your Holy Spirit to comfort each one and strengthen them. I ask for their heart to trust you again and their mind to be at peace. I ask for complete restoration of the dreams You have for them. I ask for You to give courage to those who are currently serving. I pray they would know You personally and follow Your lead, even in battle, You will guide them to safety. I ask for Your wisdom to lead them and protect them. I ask for revival of Your righteousness in all serving in America's military branches. I ask for You to bring justice to our land. I ask for the light of Your glory to shine upon the injustice and the freedom Jesus offers to be established throughout the land. I ask the hearts of the American people, to be turned to You. I ask for honesty to be contagious across our land. I ask for honor to be given by everyone in our land. I ask for impeccable integrity to be a characteristic of all Americans. I ask for the truth to be made known and established in Jesus' name amen.

A Warrior in the Lord’s Army,

Veridee Joy

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus, riots, and lies. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me.
