Oh, No You Didn't!

Warriors Arise: April 8th, 2020

Today, I stopped breathing! Literally, the fear of God came over me. I was not in fear of God but definitely what God might do because of the blasphemy of one person, the governor of NY. After Scott finished telling me the news report, I realized I was holding my breath. I had to tell myself to breathe. I know if I had been in the room while this person was being blasphemous, I would have stepped back a few paces and looked to the sky to see if lightning was coming. Not that I wish ill upon the ignorant and arrogant, but I don't want to die because of them either.

Consequences come because of our decisions. Decisions are made because of what we think and when what we think becomes what we say or do. If one is infected by the coronavirus is not one of those things that you can "tough-it-out" or "pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps" and get through. It is one that you live through because God intervened in one way or another. The coronavirus is a serious threat to human life. I am thankful our government responded quickly or the death toll could have become catastrophic, beyond our imagination!

In Acts 12:21-22 ...Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. And the people kept shouting, "The voice of a god and not a man!" Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died. But the word of God grew and multiplied. Regardless of what the ignorant and arrogant say, we are to be diligent in prayer. God is calling His warriors to arise, take their place on the battlefield, and defeat the enemy who seeks to destroy life. Even though the governor of NY is ignorant and arrogant in his ways, we must pray for the Lord to have mercy on his soul and all others who would think this disease is going to go away by human effort alone. We are to rebuke the words from his mouth and declare the name of Jesus. We are to praise God for the good report.

In the midst of sinful people, the foolish, ignorant and the arrogant, we are called to pray for them. Numbers 11:1-2 Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD; for the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the LORD burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp. Then the people cried out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to the LORD, the fire was quenched. Warriors, this passage represents how we need to respond when people of the world, deceived by the devil, blinded by pride are speaking blasphemies against our God. Our response needs to be instantaneous prayer for mercy; we do not need get mad, talk badly of them, or rehearse the outrageous words they spoke against God. On more than one occasion, Moses fell on his face to intercede for the people who were speaking blasphemous things about God (Numbers 14:1-10, 16:4).

Warriors, the governor of NY definitely was the first to spew his blasphemous words against God in regard the coronavirus on public TV but he won't be the last. We need to know how to respond when it happens. Maybe you are unable to pray for the person who spoke the blasphemy but you will need to pray for those who are affected by them. Daniel served under 5 pagan kings. It is a wonder that he was not killed when a new king took over the kingdom. God protected him. The pagan kings died but Daniel remained. We need to pray for the "Daniels" who are serving under pagan governors, businesses, medical staff, etc. The Christians do not have to suffer in the destruction of those they serve with or under.

Warriors we are needed, let's pray:

God Most High, as I position myself in Your presence, I rest in the depth of Your love for Your people. God, You are more than words can say. You are faithful and just. You are peace in the midst of the storm. You are strength in our time of weakness. God we turn to You, we ask for mercy to be released to all those who are speaking blasphemous words against You. God, they are ignorant because of their pride. They do not know what they are saying because they do not have the truth in them. This is why we pray. We pray for Your Holy Spirit to break through their pride and reveal to them who You are. We know You can do this because You did this in the past. When Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego were in the fiery furnace the king saw in the fire One walking with them that looked like the Son of God. He had them brought out and declared that the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego was the one true God. God, I ask for You to come and reveal Yourself to the prideful, arrogant and ignorant. I release Your will upon the people. You sent Jesus so that none would perish. Your will is for all to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I pray for a nationwide revival that spreads to every nation on earth. God, You are worthy to be praised and I will praise You with all that I am. I praise You for Your lovingkindness that replaces my irritation with the blasphemous. I praise You for Your peace that brings a calm to the storm of the coronavirus. I praise You for the mind of Christ, so I can think and respond in like Jesus. I praise You for the value You have placed on me, that You would hear my prayers and respond. I praise You for sending Your Holy Spirit to encourage and guide us in Your ways and what to do. I praise You for the turn around of the attack of the coronavirus in NY. I praise You because You are releasing Your healing to all those infected with the coronavirus and bringing complete restoration to their bodies. I praise You because You are speaking to those who are making the vaccine to stop the coronavirus. I praise You because the vaccine will not have negative side affects in Jesus' name! You are God and we lift Your name on high! I will praise You for the wondrous things You have done! I pray You will shut the mouth of those who blaspheme Your Holy Name. I pray You will mute those who speak against You. I pray Your people will take a stand and declare the goodness of all You have done, are doing and will do in Jesus' name Amen!
