Warriors Arise: May 7, 2021

Daniel 6:25-27 (NKJV) Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. 26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end. 27 He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

Darius is obviously amazed by what Daniel's God, the living God has done. As I mentioned in an earlier blog, this passageuses the word deliver several times. In his final words, he shares evidence of the living God's power. He tells all the people in his domain of the living God's power over lions. I am thinking these lions were not pussy cats; they were ferocious beasts. This is evident after Daniel has been brought up out of the lions' den and the men who set Daniel up, accused Daniel were cast into then of lions.

Daniel 6:23-24 (NKJV) ...So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God. 24 And the king gave the command, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions—them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the den.

Before these accusers hit the floor of the den, the lions broke ALL of their bones in pieces. Those are not tame lions. Now, if you missed the blog where we talked about the lions being held in place by the angels who were with Daniel all night in the lions' den, let me continue with a point. If these lions were restrained by the angels from eating Daniel. They were probably pretty irritated and provoked. I had shared the possibility of the lions leaping toward Daniel as he was cast into their den, but they didn't get supper. Daniel had shared, "My God sent His angels and shut the lions' mouths, so that they have not hurt me..." Angels swooped in to grab the lion and close their jaws before Daniel became supper. Some may think the lions were tame all night long; however, by Daniel's description, I am thinking the lions were not happy and definitely not at peace with the situation. When Daniel's accusers were thrown into the lions' den, the lions were not going to miss out of supper a second time.

Darius saw the lions remain controlled while they pulled Daniel out of the lions' den. Then he saw the fierceness of their power when Daniels' accusers were cast in. He lets the people within his dominion know Daniel's God, the living God, delivers His people even from the mighty power of the lions.

Mic drop.

Father, when the mic drops there is no more to say. The decision is now, will I believe. There is nothing more to contemplate. The facts are before me and I choose to believe. You are my Deliverer. Over and over again You stepped in and delivered Your people. History reveals no person, no ruler, no nation could stop You from delivering Your people. History has pinned again and again how You have power over the elements of earth; wind, sea, fire, and mountains to deliver Your people. History tells us You control the animals in the sea and on land to deliver Your people. Then Jesus arrived and delivered all people from sickness, leprosy, blindness, issues of blood, being possessed by over a 1,000 demons, and even death! I bless Your Holy Name for You are my God and there is no other. You are my Savior and there is none like You. You are my counselor and I will listen to You. I serve You because Your love never fails and Your ways are true and just. I will honor You with my life because You make a way when there is no way. I trust You because Your word stands from the time You speak it through eternity. You are my God; therefore, I am Your child in Jesus' name amen.
