Warriors Arise: February 18, 2024
Matthew 7:13 & 14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Every time I read this verse to meditate for what God is saying, I falter over "and there are many who go in by it". Instead of crying, I immediately start praying.
Oh God, in heaven, hallowed by Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. According to Your Word, Jesus came so that none would perish. Your heart, Your intentions, are for EVERYONE to be in heaven and no one to go to hell. Your desire is for all to come to the saving knowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord. Your love compels You to reach people in the pit of their sin and the darkness of their soul. It doesn't matter how twisted their thoughts are toward the truth, You offer to save them, redeem and restore them. When Jesus was saying this, He was not condemning people to hell, to the broad path that leads to destruction. His heart aches for those who are reacting the truth, Him as Truth. You gave us a choice because love has a choice. I pray for people to recognize You and receive the freedom You are offering. I pray they would desire to get out of the pit. I pray they would see You are their Rescuer. No matter how much darkness has swallowed their soul, I pray they would see the Light, Jesus Christ. I pray they would allow their eyes to change so they can take in the light rather than shield themselves from the light. I ask for Your love to call them to come out pit and into the light. I pray they would humble themselves and embrace the freedom, healing, redemption, restoration, and salvation You are offering them in Jesus' Name amen.
