Warriors Arise: February 15, 2021

Daniel 5:24-25 (NKJV) Then the fingers of the hand were sent from Him, and this writing was written.25 “And this is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

Can you see them? Can you see the words written across the wall in the banquet hall? I'm not thinking these words were tiny but taking up a good portion of the wall.

MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN

Can you imagine being at an event in a large open hall and a man's finger writing words on a wall that you have no idea what they say? This is more than having an enigma interpreted. I totally understand why Belshazzar's knees were knocking. I find it funny when I read about his hips being loose and his knees knocking but that is only because I wasn't there.

What if you had been there? What if you had seen the man's finger write the words? How do you think you would have responded? Picture in your mind the man's finger writing these words up on the largest wall in your house or at your work place. Let yourself see the situation, feel what Belshazzar was going through and the desperation of the people to find someone who knew what the writing on the wall said but more importantly what the writing on the wall meant.

Allow the Spirit of God to reveal that Word of God, history in the Word of God. There are so many things we can learn, comprehend and understand when we see it through the eyes of those who lived it. More importantly, to see history through God's eyes. Had you thought that God was warning Belshazzar or sentencing him? Why would God take the time to sentence him when in a matter of hours it was all over? Who was God doing this for? Daniel already believed. He would not need to see God's handwriting on the wall.

God knew the Medes were about to invade. God could have stopped the Medes if Belshazzar would have repented. Just like everything changed for Nineveh. God tried one last time to communicate to Belshazzar but he would not listen. He would not respond. God's love remained, even when the Medes were within hours of attacking. God could have sent the Medes away, caused a scurry in their own camp, saved the nation of Babylon but the king of Babylon would not acknowledge God and refused to repent for leading the nation away from God.

Sometimes we would like to change history because the truth hurts. But the truth can help prevent repeating history. Knowing how the present came to be is directly related to how history was lived.

Father, I ask for You to come. Make Your Scripture real to me. I ask for the Holy Spirit to open my mind and give me understanding. I want to see Your love offered even to the most wicked of people. Jesus died so that none would parish but every one has a choice. You make sure everyone has that choice. Thank you for this example of Your lovingkindness reaching out to the arrogantly blind. When COVID was taking so many lives we prayed You would enter the each person's room and make Yourself known. We prayed none would parish to hell. We prayed for those who would be healed to now the hand of God touched their life and make them whole again. Again we pray. I ask for those who are infected with COVID-19 and any other virus to know You as their personal Savior. I pray for each one to open their heart to receive Your love and walk in Your ways. I pray in the the name of Jesus for healing to come. I ask for You to strengthen the bodies of each one infected. I pray people would see the writing on the wall and acknowledge You as Lord. I pray we would surrender to Your ways and seek You for wisdom. I pray for our leaders to know You, listen to Your voice and walk according to Your counsel. I pray for our leaders to restore righteousness to each branch of government federal and state in Jesus' name amen.
