Warriors Arise: January 25, 2024
Matthew 6:25 & 26 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Jesus isn't asking them because He doesn't know. He is asking them because they don't know. It is a rhetorical questions. "Are you not of more value than they?" Jesus knows the answer. He not only choose the disciples but when He came from heaven to be our Savior, He choose all people. He made a way for all of us to have the opportunity to fully embrace all God has for us.
Jesus wants them to recognize their value. When people recognize their value they have courage to face their fears. If we aren't moving forward then there is something holding us back. What are you afraid of? It is really food? Clothing? Do you really believe God will not make a way for you to have these things?
If we can get tripped up, knocked out of where we are to be and what we are to be doing because we are concerned about when we are going to eat and what we are going to have to wear then we were an easy take down. The enemy didn't even have to try. Our fear of not having, caused us to forgo walking with God.
Jesus says you are worth His life. He didn't come to earth to save the birds. He came to save you and me. Jesus says you are valuable. He will provide for you or make a way for you to have not only the things you need but the extras His Father desires to give you.
"Are you not of more value than they," the birds of the air? Yes, you are. When you actually believe it, you will be bold, confident and courageous. You will believe in the impossible and declare the wondrous works of God. You will testify of what He has done in your life, what He is doing in your and what He is going to do for you.
Jesus is needing them to fully receive what He is saying. He needed them to know their value. They were going to have a valuable part in what He was there to accomplish. You are a valuable part of what God wants to accomplish today. Know your value and live it out each day.
My Father in heaven. Hallowed be Your Name. You are amaing in al of Your ways. You are above all and second to none. You call me to Yourself and speak to me. You lead me with Your wisdom and love. You reach down and pull me out of sticky situations. You protect me and provide for me. You empower me to step out and be bold. I find courage in You. I ask for You to give me understanding on my value. I pray I would receive it and embrace it so I am empowered to do what You have put within me to do in Jesus name amen.
