Warriors Arise: February 25, 2024
Matthew 7:15 & 16 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.
Looking into my study notes in my Bible, they share "You will know them by their fruits" is referring to the false prophet's lifestyle, character, teaching, and influence.
Lifestyle: the way in which a person lives.
Character: the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.
Teaching: the basis of their teaching. What is their source?
Influence: the capacity to have an effect on the character, behavior of someone, or the effect itself.
Most people are well-meaning. They are not trying to deceive us. Let's make sure we are not expecting every sheep to be a wolf. Not one person is perfect. We are have the opportunity to learn. So there has to be some amount of grace given for application of what is being learned. The main point is for us to recognize the fruit in a person's life. Is their lifestyle honoring God? Is their character honoring God? Is their teaching honoring God? Does how they are using their influence honor God?
My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give me today revelation of Your Word. I pray for clarity of Your Word and what you are sharing with me. I pray I would apply it accurately. I ask for You to come. Thank You for Holy Spirit who will counsel me and reveal the wolf. I will not suspect everyone. I will honor all people. I will listen for Your guiding hand in Jesus' Name, amen.
