I Will Be Ready

Warriors Arise: December 7, 2020

1 Samuel 30:18 (NKJV) So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives.

Every wife likes to think her husband would come rescue her, never abandon her, nor let anything get in his way to come to her aid. It is why we turn to our husbands and share what is going on in our day. Many times we believe that there is nothing our husband can't do. This would be putting a lot on his shoulders. God is the only one that can truly rescue us from any bully, all circumstances and bring us out of the situations that overwhelm us.

David's men did not rescue his wives; David rescued his wives. In my mind, as this scene is playing out, I see David scouting from the hills for his wives. Once he sees them, he is on a mission. No one can get in his way and if they do, the poor soul doesn't have a chance. David will not be stopped until he is with his wives, protecting them.

It maybe didn't happen like that in real life but that is how God rescues us. He doesn't let anything or anyone get in His way.

• When the enemy is hounding us with lies. God comes in, renews our mind with the truth and confusion leaves.

• When the enemy comes in taunting us that there is no way out, God comes in and says, "Go that way, I will be right behind you. I am going to take care of these demons so they never bother you again."

• When the enemy lures you into sin, he discourages you with guilt, shame and doubt. But God finds you, reaches His hand out for you to grab ahold. He pulls you up out of the muck and the mire. He cleans you up and gives you a new garment to put on.

• When the enemy mocks and belittles you, God steps in and shut the mouths of the enemy and declares, "You are my child. You are gifted and have been given a beautiful personality. I made you for a specific purpose. It scares the devil to see you develop the gifts and talents I have put in side of you."

• The enemy comes and threatens that you will always be an outcast, a loner, without a people group to connect, God says, "I have made you strong to stand up against the enemy. When you are with me, the enemy cannot stand against you. I have given you my people to make connection with. They will be there for you just as you have been their for them. Reach out to them and they will lift you up."

God will not leave you in bondage. God will come to rescue you.

• Will you be ready to leave behind the lies the enemy has taunted you with?

• Will you be ready to walk out of the prison?

• Will you allow God to clean you up from your sin?

• Will you embrace the Body of Christ as your people group?

Father, I need you. I ask for You to see me. Sometimes I don't even know what I need but You always know exactly what I need. Your love for me is overwhelming. When I reach out my hand, You take it in Yours and pull me from the darkness that surrounds me. When I look to You, I see You cheering me on, encouraging me to stay safe until You get to me. There is no enemy strong enough to keep You from getting to me. I am thankful You hear my prayers and come rescue me. I am thankful You clean me up and set my feet on solid ground. I am thankful You make a way out when I do not see a way. I am thankful You make sure the enemy cannot come after me. I am loved by You. Thank You for Your amazing love in Jesus' name amen.
