Warriors Arise: July 10th, 2020

John 20:21-23 (NKJV) So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

The second focus point of this Scripture, "As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." Remember, God first sent Jesus to demonstrate His love to the people, moved with compassion, and teaching the truth of the Word of God. Now Jesus, sends you.

Matthew 9:35-38 (NKJV) Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Jesus had an active discipleship development process. Jesus called a number of people to learn of His Father's love and to live according to His ways. But not everyone Jesus called, answered. Matthew 9:35-36, reveals His motive behind training others to do what He was doing. The people needed a shepherd, they needed salvation to be free from the clutches of the enemy. Jesus had to train others to see His Father, relate to His Father, and do the will of His Father. His end-game was to go to the cross, to be the Shepherd, the Messiah. Doing the miraculous was the part the disciples had to learn. Jesus was the only one who could set the people free from their spiritual bondage. However, when we are free from the oppression of the enemy then we can be free in every other area of our life.

Matthew 10:1 (NKJV) And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

Jesus had been demonstrating the power of God over unclean spirits, sickness, and disease. Then He is moved with compassion and has to begin releasing, empowering, giving opportunity for others to see God and do as He desires. God wants His people set free. He does not want His people in bondage of any kind.

Jesus continued to call people to follow Him but so many turned away. Many enjoyed watching Him do the miraculous and were mentally stimulated by His teachings of God. They are amid the thousands who came to hear Him (as evident in the feeding of the 5,000 plus women and children, as well as the feeding of 4,000 plus women and children). People heard of Jesus before He arrived at their city, like blind Bartemaus. He heard Jesus was coming down the very street he was on and called out to Him. They recognized Him as One having authority. Many went on to testify in their own city and surrounding cities like the women at the well and the demoniac. The demoniac asked to travel with Jesus but was told to remain where he was. The demoniac, after Jesus freed him from demons witnessed in 10 cities, telling all of Jesus, the Christ had done for him.

Luke 10:1-3 (NKJV) After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. 2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.

No longer is it the twelve disciples doing the will of the Father but now, seventy others! That is a significant increase in people doing the miraculous, setting people free, healing all diseases and sickness in the name of Jesus. How many today are doing the will of the Father? Only you can answer for you. As a believer in Jesus Christ, He has commissioned each one of us.

Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV) And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

This was not given to the Sunday morning preachers. It was given to all of us. So, how do you and I apply this in our own lives?

Are you looking for God to reveal Himself throughout Your day?

Are you doing the miraculous?

Are you sharing Your faith?

Are you discipling people?

Are you baptizing people?

Are you teaching people to observe all things according to His Word?

Jesus took God's love to the streets, the hillsides, and across the sea. Jesus taught in the temples and out on the hillside. Jesus did not limit Himself but expanded the kingdom of heaven by following God.

Father, I ask for You to come. I ask for You to breathe upon me, into me. I ask to see You at work and to have the courage to join You. I ask for people to be ready to receive understand of You and comprehend Your amazing love. I pray for their hearts to be open to receive Your love. I pray for their minds to be ready for the truth. I pray for believers to take church to the streets. I pray for people to know Your amazing love because Your people demonstrate Your love in power over the enemy. I tell oppression to go in Jesus' name. I release truth to set the captives free. I ask for You to come and empower believers to have courage to ask You for the miraculous. I ask for believers to begin casting out demons, releasing Your power to heal sick and disease. I ask for believers to disciple people to know Who You are and and the freedom we have in knowing You. I ask for Your perfect love that casts out all fear in my life. Open my eyes so I can see You at work. Open my ears so I can hear Your instructions. I pray for mobility for my hands and feet, so that I go wherever You are want me to release the kingdom of heaven in Jesus' name amen.
