How Does He Know

Matthew 6:8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

How does God kow what we need? My Bible cross references Matthew 6:8 with Romans 8:26 and 27. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Love this! God already knows what is going on in your life. He doesn't need to you and I to tell Him, He needs us to agree with what the Spriti is already praying on our behalf.

Too many times we get stuck in telling God all the bad, all the yuck, what she said, and what he did that we run out of time. We are exahausted and depressed. We have no idea how to actually pray for what we truly need.

I encourage you to minimize how much you are going into detail over what is going on in your life and listen to the Spirit of God. He is already praying for You. He is already petitioning God to respond and engage on your behalf. Listen and follow His lead. This is so freeing.

The amount of freedom I experienced when I learned to do this, is beyond what words can say. Just try it. If you are in the middle of soemthing right now, posotion yourslef before God. Your heart is heavy, your mind is whirling, but Spirit already knows what to pray. He knows what to ask God.

Father, I ask for Your help. I don't want to get wrapped up in all the yuck of what is going on. I want to pray with the Spirit. I want to pray the solution, Your Word, and the promises You have given me. When I come into Your presence, I want to know what I need to ask. I want to remember the Spirit has already informed You. You are not caught unaware. I do not want to waste my time "praying" when all I have done is dwell on the yuck of the situation. I pray I would remember Your Word and petition You with the promises You have given me. I will enter and listen. I will pray according to Your Word and in agreement with the Spirit in Jesus' name amen.
