How Do You Know?

John 16:33 (NKJV) These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

I am full of the peace of God that surpasses all my understanding.

How do I know the peace of God will bring peace to my life? It seems we need the evidence of the peace of God in our own lives before it will be activated in the world. Believers, we, need to operate in peace, the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.

• Are you at peace?

• Are you resisting the temptation to be anxious?

• Are you allowing discouraging thoughts to run your mind?

• Are you remembering what God hasn't done?

• Are you remembering what God has done?

The only way to have the peace of God in our life is if we lay hold of the thoughts that push against what God has already said to be true. We must take a stand and defend the truth. When we are faced with a tribulation, we need to seize the peace of God and follow His lead. He will lead us through and out the other side.

Many times I want the tribulation to be over. Generally, that means for me, I want to stop doing what I know to do. I want to sit down and take a rest. I want God to carry me. I want to complain about everyone else and what they aren't doing. I want to push my responsibilities upon someone else. But that isn't the way of a Believer in Christ. We are to stand in the power of Christ within us, take a stand against the enemy and withstand the enemy.

Many times peace doesn't come until the enemy recognizes that if he chooses to push us we are going to position our feet and take a stand as a child of God, strengthened in Christ Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit. Then the storm starts to dissipate, then the enemy backs off, then the tribulation comes to an end.

Peace comes when we stand in the power God has given us, Jesus demonstrated and the Holy Spirit directs. Do you want peace? Then you have to tap into and activate the power God has given you, the authority Jesus has said is yours (Matt 28:18-20), and be guided by the Holy Spirit. You have use the Word against the lies of the enemy. We rise up and run away. We are to take a stand. How do I know to trust God? Because His love never fails.

If you are not at peace, then why not? Do you know God? If you say yes, then it is not that you don't know God can, it is that you don't trust God to do what you want Him to do. Ultimately, our peace come because we trust God and use His Word against the lies of the enemy. When we trust we will fight against the enemy who snatches the truth from our mind. We are to trust God regardless of what the situation looks like in front of us. We are to speak, "Peace, Be Still." We are to get out of the boat and walk on the water. Take heart and walk in courage. He will be with you. He will protect you. He will make a way for you. He will guard you. He will guide you. You are His child and His love for you abounds.

Father, thank You for Your love. I know I can trust You. No matter what life throws at me, You are faithful. Come and lead me out into green pastures. You are my strength. I find courage in the demonstrative power of Your Son. I know the Holy Spirit will compel me to rise up and follow. You are my God and I embrace Your peace. You will protect me in the storm. You will guide me out of the darkness. You will give me clarity of thought when confusion surrounds me. I will not worry, I will rise and stand. I will withstand the enemy and stand against all his lies because I know the truth and it sets me free from the lies in Jesus' name amen.
