Warriors Arise: June 23rd, 2020

Luke 24:30-31 (NKJV) Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.
I have no idea why Jesus left as soon as they knew it was Him. I think it might be for what happened next in Scripture.
Luke 24:32 (NKJV) And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
God speaks to us all the time, more than we will give Him credit. He wants to be a part of our lives. He wants to encourage us to do the right thing and prevent harm from happening to us. He wants to teach us and show us how to love like He loves. So why is it that a great number of believers say that they can't hear God?
This might be the very reason Jesus "vanished from their sight". If He had remained after they recognized Him, verse 32 might not have been written at all. The two disciples remembered their time traveling with Jesus, when they didn't know it was Him. Jesus talked with them on the road and opened the Scripture to them. They connected that when Jesus talked and opened the Scriptures to them, their hearts burned within them.
Today, for you and I, God still speaks to us. There are two great reasons for reading your Bible:
To get to know God. When we read the Bible with the intent to get to know God it reads different. It is more than history or words on a page. It is learning about God. I used to think God was harsh and unyielding and then I read the Bible completely through and found out He is extremely gracious. He gives opportunity after opportunity for our return to His plan for our lives. His love is unending and His power is second to none. He rescues us every time we call out to Him. He never leaves us overwhelmed in a situation when we call out to Him. From what perspective are you reading your Bible?
Once we know what the Bible says, then God can speak to us in a way we know it is Him speaking to us. God directs our paths through His Word, the Bible. He might remind you of a similar situation in the Bible. He might encourage you with a particular Scripture, so you have what you need to keep believing. There is not one situation we experience in life in which God doesn't already have Scripture to guide us.
Even before I had read completely through the Bible, God was meeting with me and guiding me. Sadly, too many times I didn't know He was speaking to me. Not until at least 10 years later. He opened my eyes to show me that He had always been with me, listening, holding, and guiding me.
Whether you feel the burning in your heart or ringing in your ear or a quiet, inner voice; God has tried to reveal how He speaks to you. It is our responsibility to learn our Father's voice.
Luke 24:31-32 (NKJV) Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. 32 And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
I do not know why Jesus vanished once He revealed Himself to them but I do know they remembered what they were feeling, "our heart burn within us" when Jesus was right there, walking with them and teaching them.
Father, I thank You for Your amazing love. I have been praying for You to meet with people in the hospitals, those fighting the coronavirus, for the families who have lost loved ones, the researchers, our President and his staff. I have been praying for You to make Yourself known as You walk with them, teaching them what Your Word says in regard to what we are facing right now. If they haven't recognized You yet, I ask for recognition to come now. I ask for Your strength to come to those who are fighting for their lives whether it be the coronavirus or any other disease. I ask for Your comfort to come to the families who have lost loved ones. I ask for insight for the researchers. I ask for Your wisdom to come for our President and his staff. I pray for Your peace to wash over the entire world. I ask for each one to know You have been with them and You have spoken to their hearts and minds. I thank You for not leaving us in this devastation. I thank You for meeting with each person, building our faith and making the truth known. I pray for You to come and unite believers in praying for world wide revival. You have strengthened, comforted, given insight and wisdom, and spread Your peace throughout the land. Without Your presence things surely would have been so much worse. I ask for You to continue to teach us the way in which You speak to us. I pray we would embrace Your presence and walk in the fullness of what You have taught us in Jesus' name amen.

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me.
