Warriors Arise: December 30, 2023

Matthew 6:9-11 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

I love this picture. Sometime I need to face plant in God's Word. I am that ready and trying to feed myself with my hands just isn't getting it in me fast enough! When that happens, either life has been one hectic day or it has been far too long since I have been in His Word.

I am thankful I have access to the Word of God, my Bible, every day. My goal is to read, study and apply what it says every day. I have a hunger to know my Father in heaven. When I do not get my time in His presence, receiving from Him, I can get hangry. I'm not hungry for food, my emotions are out of wake because I need my daily bread from God's Word.

I may get angry or irritable. I may not handle a situation as well. Things may bother me more or get under my skin. If I have my time with my Father, I am empowered to handle the situations that come up in my day with a greater level of joy, peace, and love. I offer grace, wisdom and compassion.

As my husband likes to say, "We are leaky. Therefore, we have to be continually filled," referencing Ephesians 5:18. Missing a day in my Father's presence without getting fed from His Word, leaves me unprepared to face what the day gives me.

I don't need a word every day, but I need His Word every day.

My Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give me today, my daily bread. Speak to me form Your Word. Give me clarity and understanding each and every day. I pray You would reveal how I should apply Your Word. Your Word feeds my body, soul and spirit. It brings me nourishment, strength and health. I will feed daily on Your Word in Jesus' name amen.
