Proverbs 4:5 (NKJV) Get wisdom! Get understanding!

I am the one who operates in wisdom and understanding given by God.

God wouldn't tell us we could go get something if we couldn't go get it. Clearly, throughout the Bible we are told to go get wisdom, pay attention to wisdom, listen to the words of wisdom. Why is this? Because we have access to wisdom. Behind every wise thing ever said is the voice of God whether it be God, the Father, God, the Son, or God, the Holy Spirit. If you are willing to go get the wisdom they instruct then you can operate in wisdom, God's wisdom.

Proverbs 3:5-7 (NKJV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding;

6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct your paths.

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;

Fear the Lord and depart from evil.

There are times when we have put our thought pattern, what we see, what we have heard, and our own understanding aside. Before we can receive what the understanding of God's ways and wisdom of His counsel, we have to recognize that our thoughts, our ways, our wisdom doesn't even come close. Honestly, it is incredibly freeing to know I do not have to understand everything going on nor do I have know what to do. I just have to know the One who understands what is going on and knows what to do. Then we have to recognize God wants to give us understanding and wisdom. He wants us to know what is best. He wants us to have what is best.

There was a point when I was working through the above verses and realized that evidence of God's wisdom in me is not what I say but who I listen to. When I listen to God and do what He says, I operate in His wisdom. Therefore, I tune my ears into God's voice to direct my path. I may have very little understanding in why He has told me to do something or prevented me from being a part of something but I have learned His thoughts are so much better than mind.

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.

9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways,

And My thoughts than your thoughts.

If I want to operate in wisdom then I need to listen to God. If I want understanding then I have a direct line to God to receive understanding. The things I don't understand, I step aside and trust God. No one wants me to succeed more than He does. No one wants me to achieve the purpose He has placed inside my heart more than He does. No one wants me to stomp all over the enemy and walk in the fullness of my destiny more than God does. Therefore, I will listen to God. He knows all. He has the inside scoop. He will erect my path for me to succeed. I will walk in the ways of my God and achieve the fullness of all He dreamed I would be and do to advance His kingdom.

Father, You are amazing in all of Your ways. I will acknowledge You. I will know wisdom because I will seek You. I will have understanding because I will position myself at Your feet to listen to You. There are times I do not need to see through the darkness because if I knew what was ahead I wouldn't follow. You are wise to keep those things hidden from me. I will trust You. I will walk with You. I will see Your wisdom and lean not on my understanding. You are faithful and will cause me to succeed because I will seek You for wisdom and walk in Your ways in Jesus' name amen.
