Don't tell me I can't be Alarmed!

Warriors Arise: April 15th, 2020

Most of you can probably relate at one time or another, you have channel surfed on your television looking for a particular show. You are sure you had the right date, time and channel. But, when you go to that channel on that day at that time, the show is NOT there! Then you check other possible channels, some even check the web to find the listing of the show, and some just ask Siri. To no avail, the show cannot be found! Frustrating because your pursuit did not produce the results you were hoping. Discouraging because your expectations were set on watching that show. How about if you had been walking with Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome to the tomb "And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the rights side; and they were alarmed." Mark16:5.

Alarmed might be an understatement! First the stone was rolled away, "How could this be?" Panic could have overtaken them thinking someone has already stolen Jesus' body. They were speechless. Scripture doesn't have them saying anything, not one word. What could be their thoughts!?

The Bible doesn't say the ladies screamed but how many of you would have screamed as soon as the man spoke? Be honest; you would be expecting Jesus' dead body and now it is a man and he is sitting there! Why is he sitting there? The Bible says they were alarmed. That is impressive, because I would have thought they would have been VERY alarmed! We know it as history, so it is not that big of a deal when we read it. But when you read it from their point of view, they were headed to the tomb to anoint Jesus' dead body. They needed the stone rolled away and when they got there it already was moved. The guards are nowhere to be found and the tomb is open. They are brave enough to look inside. I think if I saw someone one move or talk to me from the inside of a tomb, I would have screamed and all Jerusalem would have heard me. Who knows if I would have heard a word the angel was telling me. Maybe he was telling them, "Do not be alarmed" just before the women were about to scream or going running out of the tomb.

Verse 5 ends, "they were alarmed." Verse 6 begins, "But he said to them, "do not be alarmed."

Warriors let's come together today to pray for our natural responses and emotion to not dictate the circumstance.

Father, I come today to speak peace to each one who is operating in fear. If Your angel was here today, waiting for us to arrive I believe he would give us the same message, "Do not be alarmed." I know You are for us. I know You are with us. I know Your presence is the peace we need and the strength to continue to do what You have destined us to do. I pray for Your presence to enter the home of everyone who has come in contact with someone who had the coronavirus. I command fear to leave in Jesus name and their mind to believe for Your ability to rid their body of any germs or infection from the coronavirus. You offer each one Your peace that surpasses all understand. You guide us through the valley of the shadow of death; therefore, we will fear no evil. This virus is evil and we will walk through this time in our nation, in our world following the Good Shepherd, God almighty who was and is and is to come. You are my strong tower. I will run to You and be saved. I pray for each one who is being quarantined by doctor's orders to run to You, to make You their strong tower and to be saved in Jesus name we pray amen!

Father, I ask for all those who have looked to people to save them. You are God. Jesus is the only one who can save. We have put so much of our hope and trust in people, making them to be some god but they are human. It is not about finding the right doctor no more than the right channel for our show. It is about finding You. You are the healer. You are the deliverer. You are the protector. I ask in the name of Jesus for you to meet with those who are frustrated and discouraged because they have put their hope in the wrong place. I am thankful for people who provide their best services. I am thankful for all the medical staff and researchers are doing. I am thankful for President Trump putting his paycheck toward the research and willing to share with the American people hope for a way through this pandemic. I ask for Your wisdom to continue to flow through President Trump. I ask for the task force he has put together to hear from You. I pray for the people of America to God to save us, deliver us, and restore us. I ask for the people of America to understand the fullness of Your love toward Your people. I ask for the people of America to seek Jesus in His mighty name amen!
