Do You Want to Know How You Know?

Warriors Arise: March 4, 2024

Matthew 7: 24 & 25 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

How do you know if you have securely built your faith upon the rock?

  • We can say what we believe, but until we have had the rains testing descend upon us we do not know if we have fully secured our faith.

  • We can say we believe, but until we have had the floods of overwhelming trauma shake us to our core, we do not know if we have fully secured our faith.

  • We can say we believe, but until we have had the winds of accusation and slander ravage our thoughts, we do not know if we have fully secured our faith.

You will know after you have had your faith challenged. The Rock, Jesus Christ, is solid. It is the foundation upon which we build our house, our faith. However, if we have not secured our faith by knowing God's amazing love in toward us, the storms of adversity will knock us off the Rock. We will still believe in Jesus Christ, we just don't believe He is for us. Nothing could be further from the truth. Jesus Christ is for us, all the time, our loud and 365 days a year.

When we face an adversity that knocks us know we have to remember to rise up. We have to climb back upon the Word of God. There is nothing wrong with the Rock. Jesus is strong and cannot be moved, broken or shaken. However, we can be moved when hit with adversity. We can be broken through disappointment. We can be shaken when trauma overwhelms us.

Even if you get knocked down, remember you always have the opportunity to rise. (Proverbs 24:16) Never stay down. Rise in the power of Christ who is in you. He is within you, the hope and glory of the world (Col. 1:27). You will know if you have the faith it is going to take to face the adversity before you when you remain standing through the attack.

My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I am asking for the strength to rise again. I am asking for my feet to be securely upon the Rock. I asking for You to be strong and mighty on my behalf. I pray You would be my shield and my source of strength. I will trust You. I want to be strong to stand against the enemy and not be shaken. I will stand upon Your Word in every situation I my life, in Jesus' Name, amen.
