Warriors Arise: April 18, 2024
Matthew 8:30-34a Now a good way off from them there was a herd of many swine feeding. So the demons begged Him, saying, “If You cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of swine.”
And He said to them, “Go.” So when they had come out, they went into the herd of swine. And suddenly the whole herd of swine ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and perished in the water.
Then those who kept them fled; and they went away into the city and told everything, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men. And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus.
They went away into the city and told everything. Their story compelled the whole city to come out and meet Jesus. They had to see for themselves. It was too farfetched of a story. That is fantastic, right? Jesus didn't have to go looking for the people to share God's love, they were coming to Him.
I bet Jesus was delighted, maybe even overjoyed. Could you imagine doing this amazing miracle of deliverance where the demons begged you to leave, then the herdsmen run off and a short time later there are hills of people coming to you?
I would love to be able to share the Gospel with the whole city. What an amazing opportunity. So many had heard of the miraculous power of Jesus. According to Scripture, they had to come. They had to see the one who did this deliverance and with only one word and the demons obeyed Him. That is some kind of power.
My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I pray for the testimonies of Your demonstrative power to be told. I pray we would not keep our mouths shut. I pray we would see the opportunity to release Your power and bring freedom to others. I desire to boldly testify of Your goodness and miraculous power. I want entire cities to hear of what You have done in my life and what I have seen You do in others. You were worthy and greatly to be praised. You are to be given all the glory. I honor You in Jesus' Name, amen.
