Deny the Truth and Remain Trapped

Warriors Arise: August 26th, 2020

John 21:1-4 (NKJV) After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. 4 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

As much as I would like to move on in the Scripture, God will have His way. Again, I think and pray for all the people today represented by the disciples who got sidetracked and enticed to return to what was easy, familiar, and secure. They definitely were not going to need to be concerned about dying a gruesome death like Jesus if they returned to fishing, to their old way of life.

Prior to COVID-19 causing a malfunction in the American dream, we had the lowest unemployment level EVER across all ethnic groups. People in America had dared to dream and began to make their American dream a reality. We were prospering personally and as a nation like never before. More people were working and having their purpose restored. It is a great thing to live out the purpose for which you were created. It brings significance. When a person understands their significance they begin to value others.

How we approach COVID-19 today is a whole lot different than how we did six months ago. I understand why President Trump put our nation on quarantine. He was trying to save lives, American lives. He was receiving reports of its affects from other parts of the world, especially Italy. He didn't want the devastation to happen in America if he could prevent it. He made the decision to close our borders until he had more information about the affects of COVID-19 and a way to fight it.

Aren't you glad your life has been saved?

Now we have the medicine, the ventilators, and more accurate information about the virus. We can move forward. Statistics reveal that the number of people being infected by COVID-19 is growing but the number of deaths have decreased drastically.

I celebrate the turn around, because we have been praying for the truth about COVID-19. We prayed God would reveal the cure and we have one. We prayed doctors would receive the resources they need and they did. We prayed for accuracy in information and it has been revealed. In a short few months, the situation has reversed. No, it hasn't gone away but the number of people dying from COVID-19 has been dramatically reduced even though the number of infected increased. I do not rejoice in those who have been or are currently infected with COVID-19. I rejoice that God has made a way for our body to fight the disease and build a resistance to it.

I am not making light of death. A death, especially of a life who has not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, is terrible. They are doomed to an eternity of torture in hell. For that, my heart aches and mourns. We prayed for Jesus to visit those who were not recovering. I hope we will find out in heaven that a lot of people testify of the time when Jesus came to them while they were being overtaken with the coronavirus and they chose Jesus.

What is the battle today?

People are being tricked to stay on the boat, promising there will be fish (security) while the Savior is on the shore. Why are we still toiling on the boat, so sure we can save ourselves, provide for ourselves, while trapping others with us? There is no security on the boat away from Jesus, rejecting where we are supposed to be.

We are praying for those who have gotten on the boat. We are praying they will look to see Jesus standing on the shore. We are praying they will know it is Jesus.

Father, I want to thank you for giving the cure to so many doctors. They have used it and shared of the success of the treatment. I ask for others to embrace the truth of the cure. I am asking that people would stop denying the truth. This only causes them to be trapped. I ask for You to make known in their minds that You have provided a way out, a cure for COVID-19. I ask for You to continue to build our immune systems as more and more are exposed to and infected with the virus. I petition You for doctors to listen and use the treatment plan that has worked for many others. You have provided what we have prayed for. Thank you for hearing our prayers and bringing the answer, the cure. I seek You in prayer for those who are overcome with fear, those who remain on the boat. I ask that they would see Jesus on the shore and trust Jesus to be their Savior. I pray for the eyes of each one to be opened, looking for You and return to You. I pray they would see You are the only one who can protect them, strengthen their body, and provide for them. I pray each one would have the boldness needed to get back to the dreams You have placed inside of them. I ask for each one to return to You and to the plan You have for them in Jesus' name amen.
