But, I Have to Worry!

Warriors Arise: January 22, 2024

Matthew 6:25-27 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life...Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

Jesus is giving clear instructions, "Do not worry about your life." Points so a verse Paul tells the Philippians.

Philippians 4:6 & 7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Being able to , comprehend and actually apply that concept seems impossible.

"All things are possible for those who believe," Mark 9:23

We can comprehend and have peace in our life. We not not have to worry. Worry is a choice. When we worry, it is generally over something we can't control or have no idea what the outcome with be.

The problem is we have trained ourselves to prepare for the worst so it won't hurt as bad if what we want to happen doesn't happen. But, the real problem is worrying over the future outcome for such a long time, causing stress to sabotage our physical body, causing head aches and stomach aches, even sickness and disease.

Have you ever thought about what percentage of your worry is true?

How many times out of ten does a situation actually work out the way you worried?

When you find yourself worrying, call it out. Call it what it is so you can deal with it. Expose the things you are worried about and turn to God. Ask Him for a verse to give you courage to release the worry and live in the moment, giving your full energy to what you are to do right now. Ask the Holy Spirit to expose every time you start to worry. You cannot add a day to your life by worrying. Actually it is the opposite.

Every day you worry, you are losing a day. Worrying that day caused you to work slower and accomplish less. Worrying that day caused your attitude to be short or snappy. Worrying that day caused you to isolate or poison others with your stress. So, get rid of it! Go to God and get your verse. Be in His presence and know He has good plans for you (Jer. 29:11). He is working things out for your good just like He promised.

My Father who is in heaven. Hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven. I bring my worries to You. I am tired of carrying them. They are draining me and causing my attitude to be unpleasant to those around me. I do not want to give up another day of my life by worrying over something I can't control. I ask Holy Spirit to point out when I am worrying. I want to get rid of it and move into declaring Your way in the situation. I will trust You. You will always get me through in Jesus' Name amen.
