Warriors Arise: December 4, 2020

1 Samuel 30:17 (NKJV) Then David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled.
We do not know when these young men fled on camels we only know that they did flee from the battle. They were not willing to hang around to see who would win or be killed. Since David and his men did not get a chance to engage them in battle, I think these 400 young men escaped as soon as they saw David and his 400 men coming over the ridge. Maybe these were 400 young men who were tagging along with the Amalekites to receive a portion of the booty that would be split up at the end of their raiding season. But when they saw David and his men, they decided the only thing they were going to get out of this escapade is their life as long as they left immediately.
The devil is a lot like these 400 young men. Remember the Egyptian begged David to promise that he would not give him back to his Amalekite master nor kill him if he led David and his men to the Amalekite camp. He made David promise by his God. Even the Egyptian knew David served the living God and the favor of God was with him. So, these 400 young men who were a part of the Amalekite raiding party would probably also have known God was with David. They might have even known that David had been anointed to be the next king of Israel. They would know what God has decided in heaven is going to come to fruition (Ps. 119:89). David was protected and would prevail because if he was there, at the Amalekite camp when he should be in a battle with the Philistines, something has gone very wrong. They would not be expecting David and his men to find them so quickly, but here he is with 400 of his trained warriors.
David and his men were following God's plan, "Pursue and overtake." That is exactly what they did. But it isn't over. Just because they showed up doesn't mean the enemy is going to hand over what he stole from you. You and I must resist the devil. The devil isn't going to and doesn't have to leave until you 1. submit to God and 2. resist the devil, then he will flee from you.
James 4:7 (NKJV) Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
David and and his men are in the battle for their lives, their families and their future. We need to understand we are in this same position more times tha we want to know. The enemy lies to our spouse and they lose respect for us. The enemy lies to our children and they become rebellious. The enemy causes damage to our possessions or takes our job and we get further into debt. When will we see the enemy is real?
Families are to be unified, supportive, and encourage one another in the ways of the Lord. God gives us the ability to make wealth (Deut. 8:18). The things that God gives us are covered by God, if they are stolen or burned to the ground the enemy must pay no less than two times what he stole. We have to submit to God and take the enemy to the courtroom of heaven. He is on trial, not us. We are God's children and He will listen to what we have to say. When we take the enemy to the courtroom of heaven and he is confronted then he will do as God says and return what he has stolen or give us double what it was worth.
Submit to God.
Resist the devil.
The devil will flee from you.
There are some who submit to God in everything they do except to resist the devil. They do not stand in the power of Jesus Christ and tell the devil to get off their children, to shut his lying mouth, to bind his hands from mischief in the lives of your family members, to take the disease with him and go, to return double what he has stolen etc.
Then there are some who do not submit to God but do resist the devil. Both struggle to see the devil flee. It takes both. We must submit to God AND resist the devil THEN we will see the devil flee.
This doesn't mean he doesn't come back but for that battle, for that time, for that infraction upon your freedom, as a child of God, he must leave. Quickly recognize when he comes back and submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee. The devil is not omnipresent so he cannot be pestering, stealing, causing division in your life or your family all the time. But he does plant weeds and thistles, they will grow and choke out the fruit of our relationship with God if we do not remove them when we see them.
Father, I ask for You to teach me how to resist the enemy. I read in the Bible where Jesus faced the devil and won. Jesus was protected from his birth because his mother and father were willing to follow You. They listened to You. When the devil tempted Jesus, He responded with Scripture. When the devil used Scripture, Jesus countered, correcting the devil's use of the Scripture. I ask for You to come and renew my mind in the Word of God. I want to have clear understanding of Your Scripture. I ask for You to make known Your Word in each situation I have in my life. The enemy has planted so many weeds and thistles in my mind. I need to have Your Word come is as a weed killer to remove the lies I have believed. I ask for You to restore Your Word in my mind and deposit it into my heart. I pray for understanding to use Your Word when I see the enemy hooking lies of dissension in my spouse or children. I ask for awareness of the weeds and thistles already planted. I ask for the Scriptures I need to remove those lies in their lives. I pray for You to come and teach me to battle the enemy. I want to submit to Your plan and resist the devil. I do not want to be caught unaware nor apathetic. I want to take my place as a warrior in Your army and remove the enemy from my family. Come teach me to battle for what You have given me. I have yielded too much ground to the enemy and given him too much access to my spouse, my children and my job. I ask to know how to fight, to listen to Your plan, and to have the courage to resist the enemy even if I have to take him to court. I know You are with me and will teach me to be a warrior to advance Your kingdom here on earth, in Jesus' name amen.
A Warrior in the Lord’s Army,

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus, riots, and lies. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me.
