Blank Check: Revised

Updated: Feb 13

Warriors Arise: February 7, 2024

Matthew 7:7a “Ask, and it will be given to you;..."

Is this a blank check? Is Jesus telling us whatever we pray we will get? Is "it" referring to what you have asked or the assurance you will be given an answer?

I believe it is a blank check, in the sense, there is nothing you and I can't ask. We can ask God. He will answer. His word says He will answer. He will always answer with our best interest in mind. When asking for another, He will always answer with their best interest in mind. However, many answers to prayer become reality when we align ourselves on God's path, willing to achieve it God's way, according to God's will.

Jeremiah 33:3

‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

Proverbs 16:3

Commit your works to the LORD,

And your thoughts will be established.

1 John 5:14 & 15

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Psalm 143:10

Teach me to do Your will,

For You are my God;

Your Spirit is good.

Lead me in the land of uprightness.

The blank check is given to those who ask according to the will of God, those who are aligned with Him, having His heart. It isn't a blank check for those who are not calling on the God for His will to be done. Not "if" it be Thy will, but those who are courageous enough to pray, "My Father, according to Your will, let this be done, in Jesus' Name, amen."

My Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Father, help my unbelief. All I have to do is trust You. Your ways is always the best. My life is only second best and not even close whenI try to direct it. I pray for courage to trust You, to declare Your will to be done. I will not fear. I know You have the best for me. Even though times may be difficult, You will always get me through, You will always pull me out. You will never leave me nor forsake me. Your rod and staff protect me. I will trust You, in Jesus' Name, amen.
