A Week Ago Today

Warrior's Arise: August 17th, 2020

John 21:1-4 (NKJV) After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. 4 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

A week ago today we lost power because of the wind storms going through Iowa. We still are without power; therefore I couldn't post our prayer strategy. But that doesn't mean I stopped praying. The devastation to the farms this year has been attroshious. This wind was unilike a set of tornados because it was not located in one spot. However, the devastation to our the farms, who are known as the bread basket of the world, is catastrophic. I have never seen the corn lay flat to the ground, barns with roof ripped off and corn bins stripped apart in every direction. This wind was 200 miles wide causing damage from West to the East through the Heartland of America.

John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

The Heartland took a huge loss due to the destruction of the sustained 109 mph winds 200 miles wide. I just wonder how many know who is to blame. I understand we live here on earth, but there is a battle raging all around us, a spiritual battle. There is an enemy who wants us to blame everyone, but the real culprit. In the Scripture who is the thief?

The thief is the devil. He comes only to steal and to kill, and to destroy. I hope while you were cleaning up and turning in the insurance claims, you were telling the devil that he is a liar and will have to pay restitution for destroying your income, home, and corn bins. I hope every day you were without power you told the devil to back off! God is the Judge and you are taking the devil to the courtroom of heaven.

I have shared this before but it is worth being reminded in the midst of devastation. Our battle is not against flesh and blood. Look at what the Scripture says.

Ephesians 6:10-13 (NKJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

When the enemy comes in, destroys your income, and takes what you already have, it is time to activate our God-given right as a Christian. We do not have to keep taking blow after blow from the enemy. We have a right as a Christian to take a stand again the enemy. After we have done all, we are to stand. Even before that, we are to stand. While we are cleaning up, we stand against the devil. We tell him God is going make Him pay back everything he has destroyed. Bare minimum is double. Double is what Job received, when God judged the devil. However, the wisest man on earth said the thief must pay seven times what he has stolen in Proverbs 6:31.

Every day the electricity has been out I have been praying for those who have had to deal with the destruction the enemy caused through the wind storm. I have been praying for God to see the destruction and to make the thief pay. After we have done all, we are to take a stand. I am not waiting until all the clean up is done to take my stand. The devil is a liar and I will not blame God for what clearly has the devil's hand print of destruction. I am not waiting until the check has been decided on the insurance claims, I am praying now for the devil to have to pay seven times the loss. Some how some way, the devil will pay for this. Maybe it doesn't come in a check. Maybe those who have lost will get seven times the amount of business as they had before, maybe the prices on what they can harvest will go up seven times, maybe the farmers will have seven years of overflow production. I don't know how God will cause the thief to make restitution, but I do know God will judge when I have caught the thief and take him to the courtroom of heaven. A week ago today, the devil thought he was having fun but God saw it all and will make him pay restitution.

As you continue to clean up, pray for God to judge and the thief to pay restitution. As you fill out the insurance claims for your crops, ask God to look upon the destruction the devil has caused and ask for seven times what you would have received. As you record everything you lost, grain bins, roofs, barns, machinery, etc. all that the enemy has destroyed, look to God to bring restitution. Those of you who have lost hundreds of dollars, if not thousands of dollars, from your freezers and refrigerator, you also have a right to take the devil to the courtroom of heaven. In Iowa and across the midwest, this is our time to fill our freezers with food to last the rest of the year. We have hogs and cattle butchered, sweet corn frozen in quart-sized bags, we have green beans and tomatoes sauces to make but with no electricity our produce rots in our gardens. This also is the handy work of the thief. He is stealing the food off of our tables. Again, take this matter to God. I do not have to be afraid for our winter and the food on our table; because I know God will hear my plea in His courtroom. He will make the devil restore all he has taken and I am praying for seven fold. I don't have to know how it is going to happen. I know God will make the thief pay seven times. I am asking for a full sentence. Are you?

The devil is sitting back reveling in all the destruction he has caused. Now you take a place before God and call for the devil to be held accountable for it all. When you do, he won't be laughing anymore. He had his laugh a week ago, but today, today he is doing time. God will make sure the devil pays restitution. Where there was destruction, there now will be prosperity, seven times what was stolen in Jesus' name.

Father, I come before You today, just like I have the last seven days. Today, I boldly approach Your throne, not in arrogance but as Your child, Your very own. I am asking for You to see the destruction the devil has caused throughout the midwest, because of this windstorm. I pray for each family to turn to You in faith, knowing Your Word and how much You care for them. I pray they would not mistake from whose hand this destruction has come. I pray they would see the enemy of their soul is out to steal and kill their relationship with You. The enemy wants to cause Your people to blame You. I pray for Your children to see the enemy for what he has done and take him to the courtroom of heaven. I pray for each one to put the devil on trial for the crops he has destroyed, the destruction of the homes, barns, corn bins, and fences. I pray for each one to present to You everything the enemy has stolen; the spoiled food in the freezers and refrigerators, the produce that hasn't been able to be picked and canned. You are our Judge. You told us when the thief is caught to take him before You. The devil has stolen and destroyed to much. I ask for You to come and declare the enemy to pay restitution: seven times the loss. I ask in the name of Jesus for things to be replaced two times better and stronger and for crops to be seven times the plenty for the next seven years. I ask for Your people to take a stand and present their case not just to their insurance companies, but to You. I ask for You to come and be the judge in this situation in Jesus' name amen.
