Warriors Arise: March 20, 2024
Matthew 8:4 And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
Jesus, didn't have to prove anything to anybody. He didn't send the former leper to the priests because He needed the miracle to be verified. He also didn't want the leper to tell anyone. So why did Jesus send the former leper to the priests when He could have sent him home. No one would ask. The miracle was evident.
Jesus was honoring the law. He submitted Himself, and what He was doing, to priests. (Leviticus 14:2-32) It also gave the priests another opportunity, if they asked the right questions and were teachable, to identify Jesus truly is the Messiah. He submitted to them the proof they were always asking for. They wanted a sign and He sent people to them on a regular basis to be the sign, the proof of Jesus' authority.
What proof do you need to know Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Lamb of God, the Lion of Judah, the Prince of Peace, the Redeemer, the Good Shepherd, the King of kings and the Lord of lords? If you will sit in His presence with your mind and spirit open, God will reveal to you, Jesus as all of these in your life.
Even if you do honor Jesus as the Christ, the Messiah, the Lamb of God, the Lion of Judah, the Prince of Peace, the Redeemer, the Good Shepherd, the King of kings and the Lord of lords, take some time today to sit in His presence and ask Him to show you when He has been these in your life. We are not asking Him to prove Himself, we are asking in order to acknowledge the goodness of God. He has always been with us. He has never left us alone. As He reveals these to you, take the time to acknowledge Him and with a grateful heart express your adoration.
My Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Come and commune with me. Reveal, to me, Jesus as the Christ in my life, the Messiah, the Lamb of God, the Lion of Judah, the Prince of Peace, the Redeemer, the Good Shepherd, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. I desire to give You adoration and magnify Your Name. Your love is amazing toward me and I am grateful beyond words. Thank you for being with me through the difficult times and celebrating me when I have honored You. I will worship You all of my days in Jesus' Name, amen.
