Warriors Arise: April 10th, 2020
Most of us would think that nine out of ten is pretty good. If God were to tell you, " I am going to get you out of 9/10 of the messes that you so willing put yourself in." If we were honest most of us would think that was more than enough. We would think we could get ourselves out of the the last 10th of the problems we face. When the Children of Israel were slaves in Egypt, God made a way out. God sent 9 plagues to torment the Egyptians, none of the first 9 plagues affected the Israelites. The Israelites drank water not blood, they were not overrun by frogs, lice, flies, disease on their livestock, hail, locusts, or darkness. However the tenth place was going to require the Israelites to take an active part. Their participation was necessary to say the firstborn in their household.
Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them: Pick out lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb. And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it, in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you. And you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you and your sons forever. It will come to pas when you come to th eland which th eLORD will give you, just as He promised, that you shall keep this service. And it shall be, when your children say to you, 'What do you mean by this service?' that you shall say, 'It is the Passover sacrifice of the LORD, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our households.'" So the people bowed their heads and worshiped. Then the children of Israel went away and did so; just as theLORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did. (Exodus 12:21-28)
A couple of days ago, Gov. Kim Reynolds declared that Thursday, April 9th, would be a Day of Prayer for Iowans. Moses gave the instructions the Lord had told him to instruct the children of Israel but his instructions alone would not save them from the tenth plague. In order for the children of Israel to not be overtaken by the tenth plague they had to do as they were instructed. The parents were to teach their children the importance of the Passover. When it would come up in the future they were to share how the Lord struct down the Egyptians and delivered the Israelites.
The coronavirus has caused many of the same affects and outcomes as the Egyptians and the children of Israel. Even the government has asked us to stay inside and observe distances for our protection; as God told the Children of Israel to stay inside until morning. Only the blood of the lamb would save them from the death angel. The coronavirus threatens our freedoms just like the Egyptians toward the children of Israel. The coronavirus enslaves us, holds us captive, threatens pain and death. But God provides a way out for us just like He did for the Israelites.
Teach your household the importance of celebrating the Passover and how it was a foreshadowing of Jesus, the perfect, without blemish Lamb. The blood Jesus shed for our sins gives us access to freedom. We are no longer slaves to this world or to the threats and lies of the enemy. Jesus made a way for each one to know the opportunity before each one of us. Today we pray for the boldness to share our faith, the Good News, and why we have hope when others remain in fear. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. 1/10th of our freedom is receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. 1/10th is honoring what Jesus did for us as He lived on Earth, sacrificed Himself on the cross and to take three days to plunder hell.
Pray for parents to have boldness to share the depth of the Passover that their entire household be saved:
God, You are wonderful in all of Your ways. I pray You come and reveal Your love for each and every family. As we continue to face the threat of the coronavirus, we ask for those in our household who know You to comprehend the Passover. You were not restricting them in their homes to take away from them but to assure they would have life. Father, I ask for an awakening of those who call themselves Believers to take the time to teach their children of Jesus Christ, their Passover Lamb. I ask for there to be an awareness, a reality of Who You are and of Your love for each one. Open up hearts and minds to know You, to know the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and the freedom He offers each one of us. Even if parents haven't ever shared their faith before with their children, I ask this be the time. I ask for a boldness filled with compassion to be evident in their testimony. Jesus did 9/10th of the job needed for our salvation. 1/10th is our responsibility. 1/10th is our acceptance of Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Father, come and awaken our hearts and minds to know You, to remember what Jesus did, and to wholeheartedly acknowledge and live in the freedom You offer us. I know You accomplish great things with the corporate body of believers; however, the corporate body cannot get together, at this time. I pray for parents to take responsibility to share why and how they became believers in Jesus Christ. I pray for a revival to start homes. Come Holy Spirit. Let let the name of Jesus be honored and new life begin today in Jesus' name.

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus.
